Aspen: End of MP2 / SEM1 Grading

(when exams are cancelled)

Be sure that all MP2 grades are in the Gradebook, Scores section of each class before
beginning this process.

1. Go to Gradebook top tab, Scores side tab.


Ensure that you are in MP2 and Post Columns Term drop down menus.

Notice the push pins are green, meaning that the window for grade input is open.

2. You must update the MP2 Grades so that they


can post to the report card. DO NOT MANUALLY
ENTER GRADES.
1. Click "Update Post Columns" button.
2. Ensure the Grade Term is set to MP2 & Grades to update is set to Term grades for all
students; click Next.
3. Ensure that MP2 is set to Average:MP2, Semester 1 Calculation is set to District
Calculation & Exam Semester 1 is set to Do not update; click Next.
4. Click Finish.

3. You should now see the MP2 grades for your


students under the MP2 column with a green push
pin.
If grades are not under the MP2 column with the green push pin, they will not
appear on the report card.

4. Since exams are cancelled due to inclement


weather days, do not manually enter any grades
into the Exam 1 Column.

5. Click the Update button in the Sem1 column to


ensure that Aspen has calculated the Semester 1
average correctly.

6. Enter or select comment codes under MP2Com1,


MP2Com2, MP2Com3 & MP2Com4.
A copy of the comments can be provided if you would like a copy.

To see the comments in Aspen, put your cursor into a comment box and press CTRL+L
(for a list of possible entries). Then use the drop down menu to see other pages of
comment choices (there are 22 possible comments).

Remember that comments 1-9 must be entered as 01, 02, etc.

7. Once all MP2 grades are entered & all comments


are entered, click Post Grades.
1. Ensure that the Grade Term is set to MP2

2. Ensure the Grades to post is set to Term grades for all students
3. Click OK

8. All push pins should now be red. This indicates


that your entries have posted to the report card.

9. You may make changes to student grades as


long as the push pins are green or red only.
If you make any changes to student grades in the gradebook that change their
MP2 Average, you'll need to repeat this entire process to ensure that that
student's MP2 average and Sem1 average are correct.

10. You must complete this process for each class


that you teach.
Clicking "Post Grades" in one class does not post grades for all classes to the report
card.
