Surface Preparation:

Concrete substrate to which NOVLCOR-590 concrete topping will be applied must have a minimum 28 days cure. Concrete must be
dry in accordance with ASTM D 4263 Plastic Sheet Test Method. Concrete substrate must have a minimum compressive strength of
3,000 psi. Minimum tensile strength of concrete must be 300 psi when tested using a Schmidt Hammer. Concrete surface must be
free of all laitance, oil, curing compounds and any other loose materials prior to installation of NOVLCOR-590 flooring. Deteriorated
concrete surface should be repaired and leveled prior to the application of NOVLCOR-590 material. Horizontal areas shall be sloped
to drain. Water flooded on the floor must drain completely, leaving no puddles.

Pre-seal the dry and porous concrete surface with a single coat of NOVLCOR-160 (Novolac Epoxy Primer) or alternatively use our
EPOBOND-150 Epoxy Primer. EPOBOND-150 is equally well suited for both wet and dry concrete surfaces.

Primer:

Mix appropriate primer, Resin (Part-A) and Hardener (Part-B) in the recommended mix ratio for at least one minute in a suitable
container. Using a nylon or natural bristle brush, liberally apply the mixed primer to the area, working the material into the pores of
the concrete substrate. All micro-cracks should be pre-filled with mixed PRIMER. Any excess primer should be removed and no
puddling shall be present to assure proper curing of the primer. When the PRIMER is still tacky enough, apply NOVLCOR-590
material onto the concrete surface.

NOVLCOR-590 Mixing and Application:

Mixing Procedure:

Each Kit of NOVLCOR-590 is packaged in the proper mix ratio.

However if using bulk units and/or further proportioning is required, the components should be divided into recommended mix ratio
available with the materials.

1. Thoroughly mix Resin (Part-A) before adding the hardener (Part-B).

2. Pour contents of Hardener (Part-B) in the Resin (Part-A) and mix thoroughly until uniform in consistency (about 1-2 minute).

3. Transfer the material into a clean and dry mixing container. Gradually add contents of reinforcement aggregates (Part-C) into the
mixed resin and blend thoroughly long enough to completely mix the aggregates (about 2-3 minutes).

4. To make sure, there are no dry pockets of powder in the bottom and corners of mixing container. A mechanical mixer is preferred
to mix the NOVLCOR-590 components, such as a heavy duty drill machine attached with a stem having 3-4 blades at the end. Use
at slow speed and keep the mixing blade down to avoid entrapping air.

Application:
When the material is mixed completely, empty the mixing container directly onto the primed surface, when the primer is still tacky
enough.

Spread the material by using a steel trowel or screed bar at a nominal thickness of 1/4”. Finish by using the steel trowel to bring
resin on the surface. NOVLCOR-590 Novolac Epoxy Concrete Topping provides a tough and tight, impermeable and fine textured
sealed surface finish.

If Non-skid surface is desired sprinkle A-250 Grade sand on to the topping when the surface is still tacky enough (within 5-7 minutes
after placing the NOVLCOR-590 material). By using steel trowel finish the surface into desired texture. Excess sand should be
removed from the surface by vacuum cleaning or brushing.

Protect installation from chemicals, water and weather and allow the materials to cure fully as described in the “Curing Schedule”
before putting into service.

Working Time:
The following table should be used as a guide at 25 0C.

NOVLCOR-590: 15-20 minutes

Clean-Up:
Cleaning of plant and equipments should be under taken well away from the application area. Use commercial solvents (Acetone,
Toluene, Xylene, Methyl ethyl ketone) to clean tools and equipments immediately after use. Use correct handling procedures with
solvents and take care to avoid any accidental spillage onto the freshly installed NOVLCOR-590 surface.

Curing Schedule:
The following table should be used as a guide at 25 0C.

Initial Curing & Hard to touch 40 minutes

Foot Traffic/Aqueous immersion service 8-12 hours
Full Load/Full Chemical Resistance 7 days

Note: The cure time varies with temperature variations. Higher temperatures will accelerate the curing and lower temperatures will
retard it.

Instructions:

For best performance, mixing and application; all materials, air and substrate temperature should be between 16-32 0C.

If the ambient temperature is 35 0C or higher, pot life of the mixed material may be shorter. Have the working surfaces ready
prior to the installation of NOVLCOR-590, and to avoid material losses during application.

Remove entire batch from the mixer when mixing is completed to prevent heat build-up in the equipment and flash setting.

Material which has begun to set must be discarded. Do not try to retemper the material.

NOVLCOR-590 is a scientifically formulated solvent-free product. Don’t add solvent or any other adulterant to any component or
mixed material.

Safety:
Protect eyes, skin and avoid to breathing components when handling, mixing and applying NOVLCOR-590 flooring material. Wear
splash proof safety goggles, impervious gloves and appropriate working clothing to minimize contact. Wear dust mask or organic
chemical respirator if needed in non-vented area.

Shelf Life:
Shelf Life of NOVLCOR-590 Flooring components is minimum three (3) years. Keep NOVLCOR-590 material components tightly
sealed in original containers until ready for use. Store components in a cool and dry place, out of direct sunlight, flame and other
source of ignition and at temperature between 16-32 0C
