Body
Learning Activity #1: Round Robin Tournament
Ask:
Say: Everyone will be playing everyone in the next two days. They will be strictly
tournament days in order for me to assess where you are with the skills we have
learnt over the past week and a half. I will be watching to see if you are using the
proper grip, if you are using the proper footwork and moving around the court
effectively. I will also be looking at your shot choice and the technique of the shots
you take. I will be coming around to all the games and all the teams to provide
feedback on these things in order for you guys to get the most out of this
tournament. The games will be the first to 11 and best of 1 match (time sake may
have to lower max score)
Do: Get them into their teams, have them go to their court (pre-assigned) and
have them begin playing as soon as they are ready.

Assessment/Differentiation:

Key Questions: what shot types can you use to better your performance
How does your footwork and your approach help you in the game scenario?

Closure
Consolidation/Assessment of Learning: bring everyone in at the end of class.
Ask: How do you guys feel you performed today? On a scale of 1 – 4 how was your
etiquette today? On a scale of 1 – 4 how confident are you that you know the rules
of badminton?

Feedback to Students: provided throughout class individually

Transition to Next Lesson: Tomorrow we will continue with our round robin
