Bylaw Changes
The club has been discussing the addition
of business members over the past
several months and have voted to pursue
adding these new members to our club.

reflect business membership and other
changes that need to be reflected in the
document. The new bylaws have been
distributed to the club members and a vote
to accept these changes will be made after
the meeting on April 24th. Please make
every attempt to attend this meeting to
cast your vote.
A Navy C130 Navigation Error
Tony Schoemehl entertained the
audience with a tale of a serious
navigation error while he was part of a
C130 flight crew during the Vietnam war
period. Frank May was asked which
ending of the story he believed – and he
guessed the correct one. (Just luck I can
assure you! – but the Cowboy Cookies
were great - Ed.).
Our speaker today was President Dianne
Wilson describing her trip to Sierra Leone
a few weeks ago. She described the two-
and-a-half-hour journey to the orphanage
and her experiences when she got there.
Her description of the heat, the smells, the
crowds of people and the sanitary
conditions painted a picture of a world that
is very different than our own. Dianne
recounted some of the children’s stories of
living through the Ebola epidemic and
losing their families.
She played the documentary film made by
Paul Freedman while they were in Sierra
Leone. The film described how the current
orphanage and school came into being
and introduced us to the 34 children that
are current residents. She described the
football (soccer) team that has helped the
children become part of the community
and world again. Dianne also identified Calendar of Future Events

from the audience. The goal of the project MORAGA ROTARY BOARD OF DIRECTORS
is to build an orphanage on the land that President Dianne Wilson
has already been acquired. We have President-elect Ron Mucovich
