Emily jumped right in with every content area objective. She helped make materials, helped execute lessons, and worked to ensure
understand based on testing and student performance.

Emily was very good at disaggregating data and ensure the students that needed remediation got the extra help they needed.
Additionally, she was able to see the need for flexible grouping and worked with me and the GRT to ensure extension groups were
carefully planned and students selected based on readiness. She fully understood the need for small groups and additional flex groups.

Emily helped make activities, prepared materials or found links or technology enhanced activities to ensure we could reach all types of
learners. She would work one on one with students if needed, and played to each child’s strengths at some point while she was with us.
She understood that students learn differently with different resources, so her ability to be flexible and take what she needed to groups
was done completely on her own. She often told me what the students needed or didn’t need, and would anticipate the need before I
could even ask.

Emily kept great records and always consulted with data results and myself to ensure her teaching was hitting the need. Her ability to
find the deficits and work to improve those was unmatched by any other teacher at her student level. She had a desire to learn how to
make things better, and wanted the students to be better.

The strong need to build relationships and rapport with the students is tremendous, and Emily possessed this from day one. She
truthfully wanted to know each student and wanted to hear their concerns. This caused the students to respect her immediately, and
listen to her requests and management strategies quickly. Mid year is hard to get student buy-in, and Emily did this very smoothly.

We work beyond the hours of the school day many days and weeks on end. Emily was always willing to show up outside of work hours
to get things done. She would do things for planning purposes before I could anticipate what I needed. She made materials to share
across the grade level. Her ideas were respected, and needed due to her “keep working hard” mentality. She had a tremendous ability to
find the positive and get things done.

Emily utilized anecdotal notes and graded papers to ensure students were making progress in all areas. I trusted her to move kids in
and outnofnflex groups, as needed. She could assess, work on, and remediate the need without being told. She had the ability to multi
task the needy students with the less needy students within a group.
