Guilford County Health Department
 Update historical dataset which tracks the leading causes of death within Guilford county,
using existing health department health data reports and information and datasets obtained
from the NC State Center for Health Statistics.
 Calculate Years of Potential Life Lost (YPLL) for leading causes of death for the year 2016 for
the Guilford County State of the County’s Health Report.
 Using Excel and SPSS, calculate life expectancy for all 118 inhabited census tracts in Guilford
County.
 Use SPSS software for determining characteristics of populations of Guilford County through
use of large public health datasets.
 Map out life expectancy for each census tract using GIS software.
 Interpret results of data analysis to determine what measures may be taken to alleviate
concerns related to mortality data.

 Conduct reverse transcription-PCR amplification of extracted nucleic acids to obtain a valid
genotype for Hepatitis C positive patients.
 Perform equipment care and maintenance for Ampliprep, Taqman, Tecan, MagNA Pure 96, and
Genosure XT8 systems.
