Many installations throughout North America do not have the required 220-240 Vac line
voltage for correct printer function for KIP’s 230VAC models - such as the KIP 9000, KIP
7000 or KIP Color 80. The line voltage may be too low and require filtration.
An automatic voltage regulator (with boost and filter) is available from Smart Power
Systems ( www.smartpowersystems.com ) to ensure KIP’s 230 volt series of printers have
an improved supply.
Smart Power Systems’ item number for the 230 volt AVR is:
AVR20-208/230TBF

This product can be purchased from KIP (dealer pricing in effect) or directly from Smart
Power Systems. The KIP part number for the noted AVR is:

KIP Printers, Copiers, Folders and Scanners are complex electro-mechanical products
with complex and sophisticated circuitry. Electrical disturbances can cause logic failure
of the microprocessors in these systems. It is important that these systems be placed in
a stable, clean electrical environment so that they can operate as they are designed to
perform.
Electronic Systems Protection (ESP) manufactures the Digital QC device. This Digital
QC device has the ability to:
− help minimize ground noise
− assist in the prevention of damage due to power surges or lightning
ESP devices comes complete with a guarantee that promises repair or replacement to
any damaged equipment caused by a severe power surge or lightening struck while
using a properly installed ESP QC device.
Use of the Digital QC device may result in:
− more system up-time
− Prevention in error codes, mis-feeds, or other system related issues
caused by electrical disturbances which may reduced service calls.
The Digital QC device may be considered as a tool to help minimize service calls due to
various electrical supply issues as it may help protect against damage to PCBs and
other electrical components caused by line surges.
These devices are now available from KIP.
