    Your grievances regarding Attorney Markling were received in our office in July of 2017. Please be advised that the authority of this office is limited to investigating alleged misconduct and violations of the Code of Professional Responsibility, the Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct and the Code of Judicial Conduct by attorneys and judges. Therefore, our office can only address violations of specific rules governing the conduct of attorneys and judges. Your grievances raise legal issues (i.e., defamation of character, violation of a settlement agreement, etc.) that must be determined in and by a court of law prior to them becoming ripe for review by this office as issues of attorney ethical misconduct. The grievance. process is not a substitute for court process;·nm is this office ah alternate trier of fact or appellate forum. If a court determines that Mr. Markling defamed you or violated a settlement agreement to which you were a party, the court may sanction him, and you may re-file your grievances. For the aforementioned reasons and for the time being, however, we have dismissed your grievances and closed our files.
