Since you will NOT have a test on this topic, you must communicate your
understanding on 1 of the two topics:

a) Create a step by step guide on how to draw a box & whisker plot
• Create a survey that allows you to gather a range of data
• Explain why the question surveyed is important to know about.
• Ask a minimum of 50 people on a topic of your choice.
• Teacher approval is needed.
• You must gather data that can be sorted using a stem & leaf plot. You
will gather the following information:

1. Raw Data (organize it in a clear way)


2. Mean & Median
3. Lower & Upper Quartiles
4. Range

• Use this data to create a box & whisker plot.


• You will also interpret the box & whisker plot and explain the
significance of each aspect.

b) Create a step by step guide on how to use a clinometer.


• You will pick an object of your choice as an example of how to
determine it’s height. You will need to include:

1. How to make a clinometer & actual clinometer (include photos)


2. Photos of the object you are measuring
3. Photos of you taking the measurements
4. Scale diagram of how to find the height of the object

The choice of Presentation can be one of the following:


• Poster, Power-point, Word Document, …etc. (to be negotiated)
