Personal development is a lifelong process. It is a way for people to assess their skills and
qualities, consider their aims in life and set goals in order to realize and maximize their potential.
Personal development training whether in a specific subject or in a broader context can bring
great benefits to the individual as well as the company they work for. This document will talk
about what I should improve on myself to fit my future job and how I can do it.

Task 2
Choosing the discipline of business administration tells that my future goal is becoming a
successful entrepreneur. To achieve that goal, my task is to study and sharpen my skills to meet
the requirements of that goal. To do that, I have to evaluate myself, know what are my strengths
and weaknesses and according on that evaluation, I can make a plan to improve myself.

In order to work effectively in the company, the company must recruit well-qualified employees
and meet the standards set by the company. I also have my own pros and cons.

Communication Skills

Business managers must have excellent communication skills. They need to communicate with
all levels of people in an organization from hourly employees to the company CEO. Business
managers must be able to provide clear instructions to subordinates on how to perform a specific
task. In the same day, the business manager might need to discuss more technical issues with
company engineers. Business management professionals must also be adept at communicating
with outside vendors.

With communication skills, my mother has good communication skills and I inherited from her,
so my communication skills are quite good. However, to communicate in a company requires a
lot of other skills in communication, so I still have to practice many of these skills in order to be
a good manager.

Business Management Requirements

Once you have identified the industry you want to do, you must know what it requires. With a
leader of a company, the first thing you need is a college or university degree. This is a
prerequisite and a proof to everyone that you have the capacity and knowledge to lead a
company.

I am studying a management program that would be the first step for me to be a manager, but
with my own ability it is quite difficult for me to do that because I have not completed the course
nor have any experience in management.

I also have a good spirit when doing things that I like. This gives me the motivation to overcome
the difficulties. This will be an advantage for me when starting a job that I love, it will help me
in-depth understanding of the problem and quickly offer the best solution.

In terms of language, I can speak the mother tongue, which is Vietnamese, and English, which is
also an advantage for me compared to those who speak only Vietnamese.

I also enjoy sharing what I know with others and listening to experiences from others, this will
be my strength in all areas because I have the ability to learn faster and learn more experiences
from others.

But the requirements of companies when recruiting employees will be more than that. In order to
become more suitable for any job in the future, I will need more knowledge, skills and
experience. The following are the skills I need to learn that I think will be important in future
jobs:

Time Management

In your workplace, you’ll face deadlines, orders and tasks that keep screaming for your attention
every day. As the work piles up, time to have everything done time looks like a scarce
commodity. In such a situation, your time management skills will be put to the test. Time
consciousness comes with a lot of benefits. It will help you become more productive, efficient
and less stressed. You’ll have more time to put into other tasks.

Organizational Skills

Business management requirements also include organizational skills. Business managers are
usually assigned multiple projects. They need to know how to prioritize various tasks, assign
them to specific individuals, assign a time frame for the tasks, and complete the project on or
before the deadline.

To have this skill, I need to be able to evaluate the ability of others, understand the nature of
work to be able to assign work to the right person. I have this ability, but my weakness is
impulsive action before I understand the nature of the job and the ability of others.

Analytical Skills

Business managers must be highly analytical. For example, a business manager may need to
determine why production or labor costs are higher than expected. The manager may need to
study the production process and make recommendations on how to eliminate waste.
Additionally, the manager may determine that employee overtime is driving up labor costs.
Business managers must constantly analyze problems and solve them.

This is a complex skill that requires a lot of experience and good computing ability, which I
pretty weak at.

Increase Knowledge of the Industry

Knowledge is power and better knowledge of your industry is a valuable weapon that gives you a
comparative advantage over your competitors which will aid in the growth of your business or
the company you work in. The information you gather will keep you up to date with the latest
trends and strategies in the industry. Keeping an eye on your competitors will help you know
their strengths and weaknesses and how you can leverage on this knowledge to stay on top of
your game. Understanding your customer’s needs will help you and your business to devise ways
to provide better services and develop products that will adequately meet their needs.

Evaluation and feedback on personal development plan
Improve time management:

Time management is one of my biggest problems right now. Because I'm lazy, I'm very skeptical
of what I should do. So, managing time well and having a proper schedule will be a good change
for me. This is something I should do daily.

To ensure that I keep up with my daily schedule, I should put the bell on the phone, which
reminds me of my schedule.

Improve anger management, more calm:

Anger is also one of my biggest problems right now, so managing anger is a very important thing
to do. In order to stay relaxed and sleep better, I should exercise more.

Complete CIE course

This is an important goal in my life. With all the plans out there, it's all good, but I need to add a
record of what I've learned in class.

Improve English

This is a useful tool in learning as well as in work, so spending time for learning English is
essential. However, with the current plan, my time for English is quite a lot, it takes up all the
time studying other subjects.

1. Problems and problems solving

During the time doing charity activity I was assigned as being a leader of activity that collecting
warm clothes. When doing this, I met problem which is member of SUD 15 does not have
enough warm clothes.

2. Communicate in a variety of styles and appropriate manner at various level

When I was being a leader of warm clothes teams as well as being a vice leader of Bingo team, I
use personal letter, message, and email for communicate. Furthermore, Jen – my class monitor
also sent a business letter to DMT Company – Company of John’s family for finding
sponsorship.

On November 25, 2017, Mr. Ignacio and all members of SUD 15 will hold a charity
activity “Warming the Heart” at the child sponsorship center. Every year, we do this charitable
work as an essential part for our subject in order to help homeless people, orphans, and
handicapped children.

To accomplish this charity work, we need to raise funds. Currently, we have planned to
raise funds with two activities: Sale handmade cookies and Bingo. I was assigned as a team
leader of Bingo and now I am writing this letter to let you know that on 20/11/2017, class SUD
15 will organize Bingo at 11:15 am. I hope that all members of SUD 17 will participate in the
Bingo with sincerity, together with SUD 15 fulfill our aspirations which is help orphans, disabled
and homeless children.

Here are the rules of Bingo:

  To join the game, you will buy BINGO card for 15.000VND / ticket
 You will write 25 numbers on BINGO card (any number from 01 to 99)
 The organizers will check the BINGO card before starting
 The organizers will pick up a number randomly on the stage
 After the organizers announce the results, if the number in your card same as the
number announced by the Organizers, you will mark that number on the BINGO
card.
 After the publication of numbers are randomly chosen from the organizers, those
who have 5 numbers which is marked on 1 line: vertical, horizontal, cross will shout
BINGO. At the end of the game, whoever has the earliest BINGO number will wins
the prize.
Note:
 You have the right to use all of your BINGO cards, which means that the more
BINGO cards you have the better chance of winning.
 A valid BINGO tag is a card: intact, no loss of number and no erasure
 PRIZE:
