Podcast Plan

A. Organize and define the format you will use. Review “Competitors” sites for best
practices. Summarize these.
Our group will consist of four members Genesis Algaba, Petruce Jean-Charles, Keani
Esparra, and Karina Sanchez. Our series will be called “The Feminine Files” where we
will discuss the issues women face in our society today. Each episode will be a duration
of ten minutes where we plan to transition through various topics.
B. Create a Title and “Log Line” that will describe your series
“The Feminine Files,”: “Surviving Modern Society”
C. Plan 10 Episodes. Explain the content of each episode. Make sure there is a good
flow. Introduce the Team or Talent
1. File XX1: Understanding Her Body
Women should be able to feel accepted when achieving fit bodies. Why is okay for men
to be “swoll” and fit, but women to be lean and curvy?
2. File XX2: We the Female
We have been fighting for the same rights as men, but are still not quite there. In this
episode we discuss how beneficial it would be for women to rise above the standards.
3. File XX3: The Fashionable and Damned
Women are put under pressure for what they can wear based on their body, whether they
have curves or not. It’s time to acknowledge that we are fashionable and not damned!
4. File XX4: Asking for It?
Sometimes we hear it as an excuse? Is rape truly the victim’s fault? Was she asking for
it? Exploring the impact sexual assault has on women, how it is perceived in society, and
how the #MeToo movement is turning things around.
5. File XX5: A House without A Home
Imagine living in a home where you feel unsafe. This is a cry for those women, brave and
strong in a domestic relationship.
6. File XX6: Matriarchal Lineage
Single parent households are no longer rare but women who assume both parental roles
are still judged. Can we truly judge these women without understanding the reasons why?
7. File XX7: Do I Want Kids?
Do you want kids? This episode talks of the fears, doubts and anticipation of having
children because not every woman is the same.
8. File XX8: The Working Mom
Being a working mother is a difficult task. Between juggling a 9 to 5 job, taking care of
children, the household and even their spouse, these women deserve to be acknowledged
as superwoman.
9. File XX9: Choosing a Path
Rosie the Riveter said it first: “We can do it.” This episode explores how women are
breaking glass ceilings in male dominated fields, and assuming executive positions in the
workplace.
10. File XX10: The XX in Music
Every Jay-Z has a Beyonce so why is it that we are now focusing on women
entrepreneurs in the music industry? Instead of shaking their behinds, they should use
their lyrics to grind.
D. Produce one episode
E. Prepare for a live pitch session
F. Describe how your series will be able to compete successfully in the marketplace
Because our team consists of four women from different backgrounds and cultures, we
believe that we provide diverse perspectives. With that being said, our series will be
successful for the marketplace because as women all over can relate to the issues thrown
our way. We hope to create a positive stir within the female community and hope that our
voices will be heard.
