CONTENTS

This Test Project proposal consists of the following documentation/files:

1. WSR2014_TP05_M3_EN.pdf (printed) 2. An injected part
INTRODUCTION
Your company has received permission from the parent company to manufacture and sell parts under
license. The first step in the process is to reverse engineer a specific part.

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND TASKS

After you have reviewed the part, you measure, sketch and model the part and produce a drawing. You also
create a rendered image.
The physical component will be removed after 2 hours.
You have 6.0 hours to complete the project.

EQUIPMENT ALLOWED
In accordance with the competition tool list.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE COMPETITOR

SKETCH AND MODEL THE PART
1. If required, create sketches on paper.
2. Use the following information to assist with measurement process.
i. Measuring accuracy = ±0.3 mm.
ii. Angular accuracy = ±1°
iii. Radii and chamfers 0.3 mm or less are not required.
iv. Radii
v. Neglect any surface irregularities.
3. Create the model of the part and save the part using the competition file naming convention.

CREATE DRAWING
1. Create one drawing of the part using a single IDW file.
2. To complete the drawing:
i. All annotation styles must meet ISO standards.
ii. Dimension as required for manufacturing.
iii. All main dimensions should be placed using one decimal place.
iv. All secondary dimensions should be placed using zero decimal places.
3. Apply Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT) as follows:
i. The bottom surface of the part to be flat within 0.15 mm for the full length.
ii. The four top holes to be perpendicular to bottom surface within 0.15mm.
iii. The four top surfaces to be parallel with the bottom surface within 0.15 mm.
iv. The side surface is inclined with the lower surface within 0.1° mm.
4. Add surface texture symbols.
i. The bottom surface of the part must have a roughness Ra = 0.5
ii. The four top holes to be must have a roughness Ra = 1,6
3
5. Add a note listing the volume of the part in mm .
6. Save the file using competition file naming conventions.

CREATE A RENDERED IMAGE
1. Using Inventor Studio, create a rendered image as follows:
i. Image size: 1024 x 768.
ii. Save the file in PNG format using the competition file naming convention.

REMARKS
1. All drawings should be saved on possible sheet sizes (A1, A2, A3) and convert to pdf.
2. All files should be saved in the following folder: Desktop/Identification Document/Day 3/ file name.
3. The following figure shows some dimensions for easy the drawing.

MARKING SCHEME
