Chiropractor
!
I think a collaborative relationship between myself, as a Massage Therapist
and a Chiropractor would be a huge benefit to clients. As learned in Anatomy,
structure governs function. I think it would be in the clients best interest to have
their bone structure and spine adjusted to a neutral position before I go in an start
working the soft tissue back to a healthy state. If the structure (spine or bones) are
out of place they will continually cause muscles to tighten or weaken, and vice
versa (tight muscles pulling bones or vertebrae out of place).
!
I think the benefits to me as a professional would be huge as well. It would
be great to be able to assess dysfunction as a whole, knowing I am working with
someone who has a great understanding of how the spine and bone structure should
be functioning. Being able to bounce ideas of each other can only help each other
learn more down the road and make us more complete health care practitioners.

Physiotherapist
!
I think a collaborative relationship between myself and a physiotherapist
could be a benefit to clients. Being able to see both a physiotherapist and massage
therapist would allow the client to get assessed by two exceptional health
practitioners who basically do the same thing but go about their business a little
differently. They would be able to receive a wide range of therapy options and get
the treatment necessary to help them with whatever they are struggling with.
!
I think it would be great for me as a professional to work with a
physiotherapist as once again it would be a great learning experience to see the
different approach they take to solving dysfunction. Once again, being able to
bounce ideas off of another health care professional can only benefits both of us.
!
!
Acupuncturist
!
I think a collaborative relationship between myself and a Acupuncturist
could be a benefit to clients. If my client was responding to the treatment I was
doing and I felt they could benefit from something else, I could easily refer them to
the acupuncturist in my clinic, which would help the client as I could easily give
the acupuncturist a detailed assessment of what I think was going on. Informing
them of the things that didn’t work would help them decided whether or not
acupuncture was a good option.
!
Once again, I think it would be great for me as a professional to be able to
learn from the acupuncturist and understand their approach to health care. Being
able to understand their view can help broaden my understanding of conditions and
ailments and who I can apply what I’ve learned to my own practice. Being able to
discuss ideas and learn from each other can only help both of us become more
complete health care practitioners.
