LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson students will be able to:
1. Identify traditional clothing worn during La cueca.
2. Produce/ demonstrate the traditional dance of Chile: La cueca.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT

PREPARATION AND LOGISTICAL CONSIDERATIONS
 The levels of Spanish are very different between all students. I will give instruction slowly and
use hand gestures. I will clarify when needed.
 When sitting at the carpet
I will ask the students if who they are sitting beside is a good decision. If I notice, I will
immediately separate Charlotte & Sara. They tend to goof around during instruction, and then ask
what they are supposed to be doing during activity. I will make sure students are sitting close
(Brody and Rumi) so they can see and hear.
 I will explain steps, but also give demonstrations so everyone will understand.

Goal:
When speaking Spanish speak SLOWER
Give wait time for questions, don’t just answer them.

cuando estas en la mitat pone sus pies como asíá , 3 veces

7) En este lugar vas a ir al medio con su pareja.

Escobillado es el nombre de eso.
Puedes decir juntos escobillado.
Tiene que hacer eso con sus pies.
Vamos hacer esto en este lugar juntos.

8) Hacer otro media vuelta usando el otro lado hasta tu

primero lugar.

Con el mismo rhitmo de antes con sus manos, pero

 Return to class, if extra time we will colour a worksheet to add to our Chilean
booklets.
 Get helpers to pass this out.
 Think of the colours in the pictures, the colours of the flags.
Put up pics on smart board again.
