Situation Description:
On September 9th 2017, a wedding will take place at Lacawac Sanctuary in Lake Ariel
Pennsylvania. The wedding ceremony will take place on a patio on site, overlooking Lake
Lacawac. The reception will also take place on site, at the Rustic Barn and the lawn.
Target Audience:
The bride and groom, as well as their friends and family.
Number of guests:
75
Purpose:
The purpose of the wedding is to celebrate the love of the bride and groom as well as their
future with a smoothly run ceremony and reception.
Theme:
Romantic Rustic—Wanting to complement the setting of Lacawac and the Rustic Barn, but
also wishing to transform the space. The color scheme includes a dusty lavender, pale pink, and
white.
Goals/Objectives:
❖ To stay within the $17,000 budget while finding the best deals for the budget.
❖ For all vendors to provide all services previously agreed on in the contracts.
❖ To make a cohesive theme within the atmosphere by using appropriate decorations that
fit the color scheme and mood.
❖ To trouble shoot all potential problems.
❖ To create a pleasant and memorable day for the bride and groom, this will be measured
by verbal and non-verbal feedback.
❖ To provide enough food for all 75 guests.
❖ To follow the wedding plan.

Social Media
In order to create anticipation for the wedding, the couple will launch a hashtag in order to
track photos that have to do with the wedding. The hashtag can be implemented on all social
media platforms before, during and after the wedding. Benefits of a hashtag reach far beyond
promotions, they will help the bride and groom collect photos that their friends and families
took.

Budget
Soon after the engagement, the bride and groom should discuss the preliminary budget. This
couple decided on a budget of $17,000. Knowing the budget before the planning process allows
the couple to brainstorm realistic ideas for the venue as well as vendors.

Team
Every member of the team will be responsible for tasks before, during and after the wedding.
The team consists of the bride and groom’s family and friends.
The Maid of Honor, Megan Anderson, is the main assistant to the bride. The Maid of Honor will
step in as the un-paid wedding planner. The bride will make all decisions however the Maid of
Honor will keep it organized and be the day of coordinator

Venue
The wedding ceremony and reception will take place at Lacawac Sanctuary, 94 Sanctuary Road,
Lake Ariel PA. The ceremony will take place on a stone patio with the glacier lake as the
background. The reception will be held at the Rustic Barn on site as well as on the lawn with a tent.
Lacawac provides many amenities for the weddings that take place on location. This event
will use Lacawac’s tables for the reception and chairs for the ceremony with no extra charge. The
tent for the reception will also be provided by Lacawac however it will be an extra charge.
The total price for having the wedding at Lacawac is $1,500.

Ceremony
Taking place on lake-front, the ceremony will be hard to forget. With the beautiful sanctuary
as the natural background the rustic theme will be carried out in an extraordinary way.
In case of rain or inclement weather, the ceremony can move into the Rustic Barn.
Cocktail Hour
Before the reception begins, guests will participate in a cocktail hour with light appetizers and
an open bar. The cocktail hour will take place on the lawn under a tent.

Reception
After cocktail hour, the guests will be lead to enter the Rustic Barn to start the reception. In
the Rustic Barn guests will have dinner, mingle, hear speeches and get to talk to the new couple.
During the reception, the tent will also be available for dancing and the open bar.

Food
Posh Scranton will provide all catering needs from everything from the open bar to the desert
station.

Cocktail hour
During cocktail hours, guests have the option of the open bar that includes liquor, bottled beer,
coffee, tea and soda. Appetizers will be served during this hour as well. Appetizers will include
bite size macaroni and cheese balls, buffalo chicken bites with blue cheese, smoked salmon
crostini and shrimp and lobster toast.

Dinner

For dinner will have two stations, a Petite station and a Tour of Italy station. The petite
station includes The Colonnade signature salad, Choice of pre-carved roast beef, turkey breast,
panko chicken, ham or pork loin, mashed potato and seasonal vegetable. While the Tour of Italy
includes caesar salad with shaved parmesan cheese. As well as cheese gnocchi, ravioli and penne
for the choice of pasta and the options of alfredo, vodka and fresh pesto.
Desert
Posh also provides a desert bar. The desert bar includes a vast selection of mini deserts
including house made cannoli’s and seasonal deserts.

Wedding Cake
The wedding cake will be provided by Merry’s Cakes. The vanilla cake with vanilla
buttercream frosting with strawberry filling will be decorated to fit the theme as well as the color
scheme. The cake will feed 75 guests.
Flowers
The Bouq Co. will provide all center pieces, bouquets and boutonnieres. The color scheme of
a dusty purple and pink will be evident in the flower arrangements. The Bouq Co. offers a
package titled “Happily Ever After” that fits the needs of the wedding. The flowers included in
the arrangements are roses, freesia, lisianthus, succulent, eryngium, limonium, delphinium,
dusty miller and ruscus.
The cost for six bouquets, six boutonnieres and ten centerpieces is $699.
Décor
In order to transform the space, the right décor is critical. The Rustic Barn has a strong
atmosphere of rustic that is too intense for the theme of this wedding. Although the goal is to
transform the space, it is important to choose decorations that seem natural in the space. Proper
decorations will make the setting fit the goal of Romantically Rustic.
Rentals
All rentals will be provided by Scranton Rent All. For this event rental needs include 80 chairs,
four banquet tables, 15 banquet linens, dance floor, and string lights.
The banquet tables will be used for the food stations, the linens will be for all tables used at
the Rustic Barn, while the dance floor and lights will be used in the tent
Scranton Rent All will be responsible for delivering, setting up as well as picking up the items
after the event ends. All workers will report to the Maid of Honor and Best Man while arriving at
the venue and he will give explicit instructions for set up.
The cost for all items rented is $1,506
Music
All the music for the ceremony and reception will be provided by An Elegant Production, a DJ
service. In order to maintain the proper atmosphere, the couple will provide a strict list of what
music to play for certain moments during the event.
An Elegant Production will be responsible to bring and set up all required equipment including
microphones and speakers. They will report to the Maid of Honor and Parents of the Groom
after arrival at the venue. Providing music for the whole event will cost $1,595.

Photographer
Crystal Photography Studio will be responsible for documenting the event all day long. For
$2,000, the photographer will take photos of every event ranging from bridal preparation to the
couple’s send off.
The package includes a large album, bridal portraits, print credit, an online album and
unlimited high quality negatives on a USB.
The bride and groom will give the photographer a list of photos that they wish to be included
in their album.
Apparel
In order to maintain the theme of Romantic Rustic, all those in the wedding party will dress in
classic and elegant apparel. The color scheme also needs to be carried out in the apparel.

Bride
The Bride will wear a classic strapless white dress with lace details. The lace details will
complement the Rustic side of the theme while the cut and fit will complement the Romantic
aspect. The veil will also have lace which will make the brides look cohesive. Simple jewelry and
further accessories will be needed to complete the look.
All of the bridal apparel will be bought at the Darling Dress bridal boutique in Hawley, PA.
The price, including alterations, is $1,759.
Groom and Groomsmen
The groom as well as the groomsmen will wear a grey suit with a purple tie. The color scheme
will be carried out thought the apparel. Having the groom and groomsmen dress formally within
the casual setting will help make the correct atmosphere.
For renting the suits it will cost approximately $200.

Bridesmaids
The bridesmaids will wear an elegant purple chiffon floor length dress. Each bridesmaid will
be required to wear the same dress, however, they will have the option to pick their own shoes
and jewelry.
David’s Bridal offers the dress for $174.
Hair and Makeup
Utopia Salon, located in Hawley PA., will provide hair styling and makeup services to the bride
as well as the bridesmaids. It is required for the bridesmaids to have their hair styled by the salon
but they can choose if they would like their makeup done.
The cost for the bridal hair and makeup is $168 with another $168 if the bride wishes to do a
trial run. The hairstyling cost for the bridesmaids is $57 and makeup will be an extra $48.

The couple needs to thank all those involved in the wedding. Including the guests of the
wedding, the wedding party and their families.

Wedding Favors
Every wedding guest will receive a personalized wine glass when they enter the reception. They
will be located at the welcome table at the entrance of the Rustic Barn.
The cost for 80 glasses is $173.

Bridesmaids Gifts
Each of the five bridesmaids will receive matching stud earrings as a thank you for all their help
throughout the wedding process.
For five pairs of earrings the price is $82.50.
Groomsmen Gifts
Each of the five groomsmen will receive a pair of socks to wear on the wedding day in order to
thank them.
For five pairs it will cost $76.25.

Mothers Gifts
To thank both mothers for their help and support, the couple will give them matching necklaces.
For both necklaces it will cost $50.

Fathers Gifts
The fathers will each receive a keychain as a thank you for their support throughout the
wedding.
Two keychains will cost $52.00.
Evaluation
Wedding Planner Evaluation
As the wedding planner I will need feedback on how effective of a wedding planner I was.
I will have a sit down discussion with the bride and groom where I will ask them open ended
questions.
Questions to ask the couple include:
1. What should I have added to the event to make it perfect?
2. What was included in the wedding that was not needed or wanted?
3. What jobs should I have taken more control over?
4. What jobs did I take too much control over?
5. Were there any issues with vendors that I did not fix?
6. What was your favorite part and least favorite part of the wedding?
I will also ask the guests of the wedding questions, however, they will be in the form of a
survey. Each question will come with a rating between one and ten. One will be the lowest score
and ten will be the highest. There will also be a place for comments. The survey will be sent out
via email.
Each evaluation will be graded by taking the number that was chosen for each question,
adding them together and dividing by the total possible points which is 50. There is a goal of
getting an average of 40 on the evaluations.
