Anti Corruption

The worst disease in the world today is corruption and there is a cure: transparency (Bono, 2013)

According to Transparency International, corruption is the behavior of public officials who


improperly and illegally abusing his power to enrich themselves. Corruption would harm the
state and unsettling socio-economic life of society. Transparency International also put Indonesia
into 60 corrupt countries in the world, Indonesia was ranked as the 56th most corrupt country.

Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) has released thousands of suspects in the alleged corruption
case the period of 2014. Total in 2014, the number of cases 629 cases, in 1328 the number of
suspects and the state losses of Rp 5.29 trillion. ICW is the method used to collect data based on
the website of law enforcement agencies such as the Attorney, the Police, and the Commission.
Additionally, ICW requested data to the three institutions related to the handling of corruption
cases. ICW monitoring conducted from January 1 to December 27, 2014, concerning the
determination of the suspect.

Students as agents of change may contribute to the eradication of corruption. The following
description of the role and involvement of students in anti-corruption and anti-drugs:

1. Keep yourself and make sure the student community free of corruption

With the awareness and commitment of myself and as the internal policy controller campus
student can suppress the amount of corruption and drugs. Students can also take the initiative to
form an organization or community college intra principled efforts on combating corruption and
drugs. The organization or the community is expected to be a forum to have discussions or
seminars on the dangers of corruption and drugs.

2. Providing education to the public about the dangers of corruption

The student attempts, for example, to educate more people about the dangers of corruption
because it will eventually threaten and harm the lives of the people themselves. As well as
appealed to the public to participate in the follow-up (active part) in combating corruption and
drugs that occurred in their neighborhood. In addition, the public demanded more critical of
government policies were deemed less relevant and teenage promiscuity observed around him.
Then the public aware that corruption and drug must be fought and eradicated by deploying
massive force, meaning not only the government but whole society.

3. Become a controller for government policy

Students other than as a change agent also acts as a control agent in the government. The
government policy is necessary to be controlled and scrutinized if it is felt the policy does not
have a positive impact on the justice and social welfare and further aggravate the condition of
society.
