Dear Families,
Over the next week we will be learning about Healthy Kids. We will read a story about the
importance of washing our hands and learning other important steps to keeping our bodies
healthy. The book is Those Mean Nasty Downright Disgusting but Invisible Germs. Through
activities this week the children will work on sorting, shape recognition, distinguishing between
items that belong and don’t belong, and eye-hand coordination.
Picture Day is Wednesday! Both classes will get their pictures taken when they first arrive
at their normal time.

At Home:
1. While playing, provide opportunities to make comparisons. For example, ask
your child who has the most cars or who has the least amount of juice.
2. While talking with your child, use words that deal with spatial relationships
like “under” and “on”. You can have your child hide an object and tell you if
it’s on, over, beside or behind something.
3. Encourage your child to describe objects and sort them. For example, sort
pennies and nickels into different piles or red and blue cars into play garages.
4. Read to your child
5. Create some fun exercises to do at home.
