on Mars. As humanity keep exploring this possibility, many imaginations get reconnoitered. If by

any case mars become favorable, then it will be an alternative home and a constant swell to the

human population. Mars has resources such as petroleum and other energy forms which could act

as an excellent supplement to the ones that are almost depleting on planet earth.

Everyone can feel that the supply of resources on planet earth are fast dwindling and the

numbers are still exploding. The planet has already carried an excess capacity of the number that

should be in it. In my opinion, further growth of population will only do more harm than good; it

will destroy our host planet. Since the use of available resources is already stretched beyond the

breaking point, planet Mars will be the solution to sharing the burden of its neighboring planet.

Agriculture is believed to be one of the activities that Mars can support just as its sister planet earth

does. The land that was used for farming on earth is slowly ending since the growing population

has already constructed settlement as a result of urbanization. The current 950 million people

around the world suffering malnutrition and hunger will get a long run solution in planet Mars.

Despite anticipating only positive things on arrival at Mars, some negative things could

also come about; and therefore people have to be cautious. One of the challenges is a struggle for

supremacy over the existing resources of planet Mars. As learned in history, most countries were

fought trying to colonize others to gain benefit out of their resources on earth. The same is likely

to be repeated once man steps his foot on Mars. Scramble and partitioning of the planet by those

who are likely to land on Mars successfully is one undesirable happening I anticipate.

Finally, in a nutshell, successful landing at planet Mars will come along with both benefits

and challenges as well. It will open new and better opportunities that we found on planet earth, but

that will come with serious threats. For instance, as the different countries tried to justify their

supremacy on earth, the first, second and cold wars were witnessed. Since the resources at mars

are not claimed, similar incidences might be observed when people arrive there in numbers. On

the positive sides, solutions to pressing issues such as global warming, ecological balances, and

food crisis will be found permanently. Life on mars will be like heaven if people will resist the

temptation, lust, and greed for aggrandizement and power to control Mars. It means that life will

be better, but this opportunity has to be approached with a balanced mind.
