1’444,354 TMF, 3´493,909 KgF y 329,154 TMF, respectivamente.

ANNUAL REPORT 2007
Executive Repport
The 2007 was a year of new national production records of copper, zinc, silver, lead, with 1’190,281 FMT,
1’444,354 FMT, 3´493,909 FKg and 329,154 FMT, respectively. The gold production was at the average level
of the last seven years, but was smaller in 16.1% to the one of 2006. Silver, lead, iron and tin registered
positive increases rates.
The national Copper production was of 1´190,281 FMT, which meant a historical maximum and an increase
of 13.5% with respect to production of the 2006 (1´048,472 FMT). This is due mainly by the beginning of
operations of the Primary Sulfide Project of Mining Society Cerro Verde (with that the company increased its
production in 183.9%) and to the Cerro Lindo of Mining Company Milpo. On the other hand Southern Copper
Corporation and Xstrata Tintaya S.A. had variations of –0.6% and 3.4%, respectively.
The national Gold production was of 170’127,539 FGr (5,470 thousand Ounces), maintaining the average
level of the last seven years (5,444 thousands of ounces), Nevertheless, the 2007 number represents a
decrease of 16.1% with respect to the 2006 (6, 521 ounces.) This contraction is because Mining Company
Yanacocha fell in 40% due to the delay in its amplifications and the exhaustion of its oxides reserves.
The national production of Zinc reached a new record with 1´444,354 FMT, representing a growth of 20.0%
with respect to the produced total in 2006 (1´203,364 FMT). The 2007 result is due to that Mining Company
Antamina has prioritized the zinc extraction instead of the copper one. Also, several companies have invested
in amplifications of production capacity and equipment acquisitions such as Mining Company Volcán and
Administrative Company Chungar
The national Silver production was of 3´493,909 FKg (112,332 thousands of ounces), only 0.7% more than
in 2006, but reaching a new historical record ninth consecutive year. In this individual way, mixed behaviors
were given. On one hand growths in Mining Company Volcan (22.4%), Mining Company Ares (11.8%) and
Mining Company Antamina (14.2%), among others, that compensated drops in Mining Company
Buenaventura(-2.5%), Mining Society El Brocal (-31.3%) and Pan American Silver S.A (-6.7%), among
others.
The Lead national production reached 329,154 FMT, a new historical record and a growth of 5.0% respect to
the 2006.This is due to growths in Mining Company Volcan (30.5%), Mining Society El Brocal (5.9%) and
Mining Company Los Quenuales (16.7%), which offset diminutions of Mining Company Milpo S.A .A. (-9.4%)
and Mining Company Atacocha S.A.A (-26.0%), among others.
The Tin national production registered 39,019 FMT representing a small increase of 1.4% with respect to the
produced in 2006 (38,470 FMT). It is worth to mention that the only tin producer is Mining Company Minsur,
which obtained its larger historical production in 2004 with 41,613 FMT.
The Iron reached its larger production of the last 30 years, registering a total of 5’104 thousands LFT which
means an increase of 6.7% with respect to the 4’785 LFT reached during 2006. Also, Mining Company
Shougang Hierro Perú S.A. is the only iron producer at national level.
The Molybdenum production experienced a reduction of 2.5% with respect to the volume registered in 2006
(17,209 FMT), however it maintains the high levels observed during the last years. This contraction is due
mainly to the smaller production registered by Mining Company Antamina S.A. that during 2007 obtained
more zinc laws, while Souther Copper Corporation obtained a growth of 7.7% with 10,049 FMT.

LIMESTONE/DOLOMITE PRODUCTION

“In 2007, Peruvian economy expanded 8.3%, reaching the highest growing rate of the last 13 years. Also, to
December 2007, a continuous growth of 78 months has been obtained, which has fortified the per formance of
our economy. This way, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by inhabitant reached US$ 3 931 in 2007, US$ 554
more than in 2006.
This growth occurs in a difficult international scene, different from the one in the year 2006. In effect, during year
2006, the terms of exchange grew 27, 4%; while they expanded 5% in 2007. The price of WTI oil increased in 58, 6%,
registering levels close to the US$ 100 per barrel by the end of the year. Similar, the price of wheat- another
important impor t product- reached the US$ 325 per ton, a growth of 83, 8%.In addition to these rises, the
macroeconomic situation of North American economy has been deteriorated as a consequence of the mor tgage
market crisis.
These shocks of offers caused a temporary increase in the inflation, that reached 3,9% in 2007, the second lowest
in the region. Also for the second consecutive year, a surplus in the Non Financier Public Sector accounts was
reached (2,9% of GDP), consolidating the sustainability of public finances. This result, along with the operations
of administration of liabilities carried on, allowed the public debt reduction that registered 28, 9% of the GDP
It is also important to mention that the economic expansion of 2007 is explained by the increase in the private
investment and consumption, which increased in 25,5% and 7,4%, respectively. Also the dynamism of the public
investment has also been one of the sources of growth during the last year reaching 26,7%, in real terms. This
number would increase up to 41, 7% if the expense executed by the State in the Public – Private Associations
frame is included (PPA).”
