A Raisin in the Sun: Deprived Dreams Webercise

Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the sun addresses issues that occurred during
the time she was growing up, and was writing the play. The issues presented in
the play also influence society today. You will be responding to the following
questions, using different websites that I have provided, to locate your answers.
After answering all the questions, you will then pair up with one of your
classmates to create a 5-7 minute podcast discussion, using Audacity, to speak
about themes and obstacles (issues) in the play that prevent one from achieving
their dreams; you will be relating them to characters, history, and yourself. In
addition, you will compare the two interpretations of the play, that we watched in
class (the 2008 film and a live production), in your discussion to evaluate which
version stayed in line with the physical text of the play, and which one did not.
