University Liaison Comments

Cai Wen brings much energy to her classroom and it is clear she has developed positive relationships with her
students and co-teachers. She is engaging and responsive to her students’ needs. She has provided evidence of
her understanding of curriculum, lesson planning and the need to differentiate planning and teaching based on
individual student’s development and learning needs. She draws on a range of classroom resources and
technology to make her lessons engaging to young students. She provides a structure to her lesson generally
commencing with whole class teaching followed by group and individual activities. She is able to return to
whole class teaching to reflect on key content of the lesson before effectively transitioning to the next session.
She is able to discuss and report on student learning outcomes and understand the connection between
assessment, reporting and ongoing planning. In her studies in her Bachelor of Education (Special Education)
course she has been a very active participant and developed as a reflective teachers keen to take on feedback
from others. She has much potential as an early career graduate and I wish her every success for a long and
productive career as an early childhood educator with specific capacity to effectively educate children with
special needs.
