1. In terms of the ADEPT Performance Standards, what are your professional strengths?
How have you built on these strengths so far, and how do you plan to do so in the future?

My professional strengths are APS 2, 4, 5, 7, and 10. Throughout the semester I have
done a good job on teaching the students’ content using various strategies. I plan to
continue to use various strategies throughout my career so that I can reach all of my
students. By having a consistent routine for the students help me manage my classroom
better, because students know what is expected of them and what they are to do from
one day to the other.

2. In terms of the ADEPT Performance Standards, what are your professional challenges?
Describe your students’ overall progress and achievement. What insights have you
gained into ways to improve student progress and achievement?

At the beginning of my student teaching APS 1 and 6 were a challenge. With

some of the standards I was not sure how I could teach the appropriate content.
With the help of my cooperating teacher I have corrected that by looking deeper
into the standard and using various resources.

3. Describe your students’ overall progress and achievement. What insights have you
gained into ways to improve student progress and achievement?

My students overall progress and achievement is good, but there is always room
for improvement. I have gained so much knowledge on providing accurate and
meaningful content, using various strategies to help guide students,
differentiating lessons for various learners, and using higher order thinking
questions to guide students thinking process. I have learned various techniques
to help manage my classroom, make lessons exciting and engaging to make
sure that all of the students in my classroom can learn the material and that they
stay on task. With all that I have learned I feel that I can reach most of my
students so that they are able to learn and perform to the best of their ability.
4. How will you use the knowledge you have gained through this professional self-
assessment to promote your continuous professional growth and collaboration? How do
you plan to meet these challenges?

I will use the knowledge that I have gained during my student teaching and completing
this professional self-assessment as a tool to build on my strength and weaknesses so
that I can improve in all areas. I plan to reflect upon my strengths so that I will continue
to show professional growth. I plan to reflect upon my weaknesses every semester so
that I can try to improve on each area every semester to help my students grow.
