Course No & Title: NA 6 – Ship Resistance


Course Description: Ideal (inviscid) and viscous theory of fluids applied to marine vessels. Ship resistance
and the different components of resistance. Dimensional analysis, model testing and scaling
laws. Methods of estimating ship resistance - resistance prediction from model testing and
standard series, towing tank tests, generalized/empirical graphs. Computer applications
