Device Setup
1. Connect the cables and device to PC communication port ( refer System Connection
Diagram on page 25 )
2. After power up the EL1000, perform Cold Start:
I. Press -> reset button
II. Press -> cold start button (after around 0.5 second)
III. Once LED DS1, DS2 and DS3 turn ON, press -> reset button again.
3. Launch Axsys software. Select the appropriate Comm Port that is connected to your device

Add new card
NOTE: for the first time to add the new card, please ensure that all the required or particular settings
have been done in the Database Setup. For those database settings are:-
Time Interval Job Title
Time Zone Working Hour
Access Roles Holiday Set
Department
1. Select -> Database Setup menu -> click Card Holder to bring out following window
2. Click -> Insert to open the Edit Card Holder Record window

Key in the Card No
Fill in the Staff No. & Name
Two types:-
- Access Card
- Master Card
NOTE:
Card number MUST be 10-digits number.
If the number registered is less than 10 digits, fill in zeroes ‘0’ in front of the number to fill up
to 10-digits.
1. Buddy No. – is a match pair identification number used for Buddy Mode matching
procedure. Select the buddy number for the card user.
NOTE: digit ‘1’ is an exclusive digit that is set to match with all buddy number

4. Click -> Capture Card to bring out the card capture widow:
6. Select -> Execute and the system will prompt the user to confirm the card registration
procedure. Select -> Yes to add the new card information into the database.
Delete Card
1. Select -> Database setup menu and click -> Card Holder

2. Select the card no. that you want to delete then click -> Delete tab as shown in the above.
User Roles
1. This only can set by administrator to create restriction access for different users who
logged into the software.
2. Select -> System Setup menu -> click User Role

3. Select the access option that you wish to grant for the others by clicking the selection box.
Switch to other menu ( System Setup, Database Setup, Reporting, and System
Operation ) by clicking on the menu tab.
4. Select -> Save to store the setting into database
1. First you need to set the Time Interval that you allow the user to pass through the access.
(refer to the Time Interval setting on page )
2. Select -> Database Setup menu, click -> Card Holder.

3. To add in new time zones, click -> Insert
1. From the Access Roles window, choose the Access No that you want to change and the
click -> Modify

Change Password
3. A window asking for old password will appear. Key-in the current password for verification.
4. Then the window will pop out, key in the new password.
6. You must log out to the system before using the new password. Therefore, exit the system
using the old password.
7. Log in again with the new password to active the password and to complete the step.

Card Access Group edit – Setting & Parameters
1. Select Database Setup menu -> click Card Holder -> click Group Edit
Change the parameters as desired can be ignored as it does not contribute to any changes
to the parameters.

Buddy Mode Setting
- Buddy Mode feature is to provide a high security procedure that requires 2 valid cards with
the same Buddy No. to be presented to the device to gain access. (available for Single and
Double Door only)
3. Select Database Setup menu -> Click Card Holder -> choose the cards that you want to
assign a buddy number.

Antipassback Setting
- Antipassback is to prevent double entry by using the same card without exiting the facility
beforehand.
- Available for Single Door and IN/OUT Barrier.
1. Select System Setup menu -> click Panel Setting -> select the door/board you need to
activate Antipassback feature -> click Modify will pop out the below window:

Time Zone & Time Interval Setting
- This setting is used activate or deactivate the system feature for one week time frame.
- First you need to set the particular time for a day. Meaning, select the interval time that you
want to activate or deactivate the system feature for one day.

1. Click Insert -> to open Edit Time Set Record window:
2. Set the time frame by clicking the up and down arrow or by keying in the digit in first
interval frame (Interval 1).
3. Set the time frame beginning with Interval 1, the other two can be left alone if it is
unnecessary.
1. From Database setup menu, -> select Time Zone to bring out “Time Zone Set” window.
2. Same as the Time Interval Set, there are two default settings that cannot be deleted or
modified.
“000” – no access granted at all the time
-- or deactivate the access control feature.
“001” – allows access granted at all the time
-- or activate the system feature

Click -> Insert to create
new time zone
3. Click on the down arrow button to view the time interval set available.
4. Select the time interval set that you desired for the day. Repeat the selection procedure for other
days.
5. Click -> Ok once completed the new time zone insertion.

Backup & Restore
1. From the System operation option, select -> Backup & Restore to open “Backup and Restore Tool”
window.
2. Click-> Add File to Backup List tab, the software will prompt the user to select the file type that
wished to be saved as backup.

3. If you choose System Data File, select the database file in SysFolder that want to backup from
“Open” window.
If you chose Transaction Log File, select the transaction file in EvtFolder from “Open” window.
4. Select the Create Backup Archive tab to compile and save the backup files. Type the name for the
backup files in the designated field, select -> Save to complete the procedure.
5. Click -> Close to exit the window
Selecting the Clear Backup List tab will delete all the backup items on the list.

System Restore procedure:
1. From System Operation menu, select -> Backup & Restore option to open up “Backup and
Restore Tool” window.
2. Select -> Restore tab on the top left corner of the window.
3. Select the folder where you saved your backups.
4. From that filed, select the file that you wished to restore to the system.
5. Select the Restore Mode for the system restoration procedure.
6. Choose the Restore Path for the system.
Original Path – will overwrite the existing files.
Other Path – will provides restoration o different file path, in which the user is required to
specify.
7. Select -> Restore Backup File to complete the system restoration procedure.
