THE GREAT LEADER: SULTAN MUHAMMAD AL-FATEH

Bismillahirahmanirrahim… Assalamualaikum Wrt. Wrb.

Honorable one the justice juries, the participants of speech contest and all
my loving audience. Before I begin to give a speech, I would like to invite you to
thank to Allah the Almighty, who gives us mercy and blessing, so we can meet
together in this place. And let’s deliver sholawat and salam to our Prophet
Muhammad SAW, who has brought us from the darkness to the brightness, so we
are always in the right path.

Ladies and gentleman,

I’ll never forget to thank to the chairman who has given an opportunity for
me to deliver my speech in front of you all. Today, I would like to deliver my
speech about The Great Leader: Sultan Muhammad Al-Fateh. I believe that
everyone here have known who is Sultan Muhammad Al-Fateh. But let me
introduce some about him. His full name is Mehmet bin Murah Khan and also
known as as Muhammad Assani. Sultan Al-Fateh was born on 29 March 1432 at
Ederny, Turkey and died on 3 May 1481. He was 7th Otthman Sultan emperor.

Ladies and gentleman,

Do you know why Sultan Al-Fateh known as the greatest leader? First, there
is one hadith that told about the great leader who will lead Constantinople.
Rasulullah SAW said:
‫لتفتحن القسطنطينية فلنعم األمير أميرها ولنعم الجيشى ذلك الجيش‬
What means “Verily, Constantinople shall be conquered, its commander shall be
the best commander ever and his army shall be the best army ever.” (Narrated by
Imam Ahmad).

Second, Sultan Al-Fateh success in liberate Constantinople from Roman

Byzantine in 1453 after several attemption by the previous commanders since
Ummaiyah empire. Constantinople fell on 20 Jamadil Awal 857 / 29 May 1453
following a 57 day siege. Sultan Al-Fateh uses the strategic plans to conquer
Constantinople. After the Uthamniyah force the city, Sultan Al-Fateh arrived on
his horse in great procession that includes his minister and army commanders.

Third, after the liberation of Constantinople, Sultan Al-Fateh managed

conquest many place such as Serbania in 1454, Morea in 1458 and Black Sea
Coast in 1460. Now, you can see how great leader Sultan Al-Fateh was.

Ladies and gentleman,

Do you know Sultan Al-Fateh has made many contributions in Islamic

Dynasty such as the liberation of Constantinople that led to fall of Byzantine
Empire? The liberation not the easier conquest that we thought that had been
proven by hadith just now, Sultan Al-Fateh also change the name of
Constantinople to Istanbul.

Sultan Al-Fateh also able to become the great leader because of his strong
hold on Islam. His parent had teaching him about al-Quran which is the main
source to become a great man since he was small. He was lucky to have such a
good parent who can educate him to become a great leader to himself and army.

Ladies and gentleman,

So, how can we be like him? Firstly, we should read to have a clear gold
objective in our life in order to be like him. A clear vision is what guides us. As a
Muslim, our vision is to become the servant of Allah. Secondly, we should strive to
gain knowledge because the best leaders are always learning and hungry to be the
best they can be. We can view in Surah Mujaadilah verse 11 like Allah SWT said:

   

  
    
  
What mean: “Allah will exalt those of you who believe, and those who are given
knowledge in high degrees, and Allah is aware of what you do”.

For conclusion, we can see how great Sultan Al-Fateh as a leader. He is one
of those who can be an icon and example to all people especially for youth. I think
that’s all my speech, I apologize all of my mistakes. Thanks very much for your
attention and appreciation and may Allah bless you eternally.
