On April 25,2018, I was requested to assist in locating the owner ofa horse struck on Highway 33 and Green
Pond Road Polk City, Florida. The information I was provided there was a traffic crash involving two (2) semi-
tractor trailers on April 4,2018 at approximately 0,140 hours. The two semi-tractors were traveling in opposite
direction on Highway 33 in the area of Green Pond Road. Based on interviews of the Deputy who investigat€d
the tralfic crash and dash cam video from one ofthe semi-tractors involyed, there was a brown in color horse in
thc middle ofthe road. The loose livestock appears to be the contributing factor of the traffic crash trased on the
investigation conducted by D/S Scheidegg (8439). The owner ofthe loose livestock was not identified at the time
of his investigation.

Information was obtained ofa possible owner ofthe horse at 18027 San Juan Avenue Polk City, Florida.
Interview was conducted with the owner's wife who was shown a photograph of the deceased horse. The wife
positively identifed the horse as their missing horse. It was learned the suspect was owner of the horse and was
responsible for the care of the horse. I was learned the horse was allowed to freely roam the unsecured yard of
the residence at times and the gate to the secured fenced area was left open on the night of April 3, 2018' when
the horse was last seen by Mrs, Sanchez. At no time did th€ suspect report his horse missing or possibly stolen.

Based on the information obtained through the investigation, the suspect wilfully allowed his livestock to roam
his unsecured property with no deterent to enter on to the public roadways ofthe State ofFlorida specilically
San Jaun Road, Green Pond Road and Highway 33 ofPolk County, Florida. The actions ofthe suspect are
negligent which led to a seriuous traffic accident.
