Targeted teacher questions to promote HOTS: Good morning! How are you? we have 4 butterflies here that
want you to give them the right answers of multiplication table to lead them for the princess butterfly.
Well done beautiful butterflies! Who will tell me what is the answer of multiplying this? Clap your hand for
them! I will mark for group leaders and they will mark for you later.
Student communication and use of math language : The answers of multiplication table questions, the
mathematics signs to compare between the fraction (greater than, less than, equal)
-Teacher will write the title of the lesson, and the learning objective in the board. (1mins)
-Teacher will present a power point to monitor the students for the lesson answering strategy which
is the butterfly strategy. In the power point, students with the teacher will recall the mathematics
signs that used in math to compare between numbers. (4 mins)
-Teacher will explain the butterfly strategy that will use to compare between fractions, monitor it
with some practice in the slides to helps students understand the basic concept to compare (4 mins)
-after that, teacher will explain the number line of the book page 633. Students then will work in
groups to answer questions from (6 – 8) teacher will tell that in this group work one student in
group will read the question for the group and they will participate together to answer (10 mins)
