OmniPC 4.

1 Release Notes

OmniPC 4.1R14 2015-02-04

New features
- New features were limited to the OmniScan unit acquisition software (MXU) for this release.

OmniPC 4.1R12 2014-12-23

Resolved issues from previous version

- Depending on the instrument’s configuration, a delay between TCG point and the application of the
associated gain was sometimes observed. This delay was fixed.
- With certain TOFD setups, a mismatch between the wedge angle value from the menus and from the
title bar could be observed. Both values are now linked and the mismatch was fixed.

OmniPC 4.1R9 2014-07-16

New features
- Support of the files generated with the 8ch UT module.
- Support of the RollerFORM Phased Array wheel probe.

OmniPC 4.1R8 2014-04-30

New features
- Support of the files generated with a PA2 32:128 module.
- AdBr reading functionality.
o AdBr gives the difference in dB between the signal maximum amplitude in Gate A and the
Reference level.
o Once the Reference Gain is set, the adjustment gain will not impact the AdBr value. Example:
 Gain = 20.0dB, A% = 40%, AdBr = -6dB
Set the Reference Gain and add 6dB of adjustment gain
 Gain = 20.0dB + 6.0dB, A% = 80%, AdBr = -6dB
o A%r gives the % equivalent to the AdBr reading.
o The signal amplitude has to be lower than 100% for the reading to return a value.
o The same readings (AdBr and A%r) exist for Gate B.

Resolved issues from previous version

- During TOFD analysis using the knob, it happened that the cursors skipped a position. This situation
was fixed and the cursor movement respects the increment (delta) value.

OmniPC 4.1R7

New features
- Improvements to the Technique function
o The parameters defined by this function allow a better usability
- The technique “Uncorrected” was added to the list of existing techniques
o This button allows the S-Scan to be displayed in the form of stacked A-Scans
o The only layouts available are: A-S Scan and A-C-S Scan
- The A-Scan readings are displayed by default with TOFD configuration. This allows monitoring the
amplitude of the signal at the cursor’s position.

Resolved issues from previous version

- Files configured in “Clicker + Preset” mode are supported
- Longer file paths can be used and will be remembered by the software

OmniPC 4.1R6

New features
- The TOFD calibration shortcut is now available at all time through the interactive menu
o The user no longer has to go through the Wizard first
- Improvements to the different TOFD calibrations
o Better LW synchronisation
o The cursors position remains the one defined by the user prior to the Wizard

Resolved issues from previous version

- The OmniPC file path will now be initialized as well when opening a file directly from its folder
o The path used to only be initialized when selecting a file from the OmniPC file manager

OmniPC 4.1R3
New features
The A-Scan was added to the Multiple PA C-S layout, which now becomes PA A-C-S

DGS with limited functionality

- For Phased Array DGS, and Conventional UT at 45°, 60° or 70° angle beam
o Calibration is limited to the K1/IIW block
o Maximum ERS value is 10mm, if the value exceeds it, the reading will display the following: ---
o The Registration Level can be modified after completion of the calibration, and the calibration
will still be valid.
- For Conventional UT at 0°
o Calibration is limited to Flat Bottom Holes (FBH)
o If the Registration Level is modified after the DGS calibration, the calibration needs to be re-
done.

Resolved issues from previous version

- Many display refresh issues of the multi group layouts were fixed.
- The Reference curve automatically appears on the A-Scan when activating a Sizing calibration.

OmniPC 4.1R2

New features
- New report templates to reflect the nature of the application
- High quality sample data files are provided through the data file manager
- Interactive menus giving direct access to parameters that are linked to the click area
- Improved TOFD calibration, and Lateral Wave Synchronization
- 0% reference line is added to the TOFD A-Scan
- New Interactive title bar for direct access to the most common features
- The axis zoom bar is strictly used to Pan
o Double-tap to zoom out one axis
o Tap and hold, then select Zoom out for all axis at the same time
- Cursors are moved by selecting it, and then scrolling the rotary knob
- Gates are adjusted by selecting a zone of the gate, and then scrolling the rotary knob
o Left end = Start
o Middle = Threshold
o Right end = Width
- Additional layouts from MXU 4.0

Resolved issues from previous version

- The A-Scan is resized compared to MXU 4.0 to allow more precise measurements
