REF TESTING PROCEDURE

Figure of High Impedance REF Circuit Diagram is shown below. Now how to test REF CT polarity is described in following steps.

STEP-I:- First of all check the ratio of REF Core of HV CT, LV CT AND NCT by injecting three phase primary current in HV Side.

STEP-II:-.As per circuit below open all the link (L3 - L14) except HV Side R-Ph (L1 & L2), and remove final wire connected to relay at TB and temporarily short by a
wire, short S1 S2 of LV and NCT as given in circuit below. Now Inject primary current in HV Side R-Ph. Measure all the four currents i.e I HV, ILV, INCT and current in
outgoing temporarily shorted wire lets IOUT as shown in fig. by TT (Tong Tester)

STEP-III:-.As per circuit below in consequence of STEP-II just remove the NCT Core S1 , S2 Shorting and close the link L13 and L14 rest of the circuit will be the same as
was in STEP-II. Now againe Inject primary current in HV Side R-Ph. Measure all the four currents i.e I HV, ILV, INCT and current in outgoing temporarily shorted wire lets
IOUT as shown in fig. by TT (Tong Tester). If IOUT measured is equal to the sum of INCT measured in STEP-II and IHV measured means polarity is OK proceed to STEP-IV
otherwise reverse one of the HV Side or NCT polarity and repeat the STEP-II and STEP-III.

STEP-IV:-.As per circuit below in consequence of STEP-II just remove the LV SIDE CT Core S1 , S2 Shorting and close the link L7 and L8 rest of the circuit will be the
same as was in STEP-III. Now again Inject primary current in HV Side R-Ph. Measure all the four currents i.e I HV, ILV, INCT and current in outgoing temporarily shorted
wire lets IOUT as shown in fig. by TT (Tong Tester). IOUT measured should be equal to Zero.
