Discover the Love of Christ

Frostproof, Florida May 2018

Pastor’s Remarks

Dear Church Family,

A Greek philosopher is credited with saying “the only thing constant is

change”. Change is a part of life, even though we don’t always understand it
or like it. It happens in the life of a church as well.
Last week Bro. Ed Strickland made the decision to retire as our Minister of
Music here at FBC. This August would have marked thirty four years that
Bro. Ed has been here. He has served faithfully and diligently over these
past years. There is no doubt about his love for his Lord and he has
faithfully demonstrated it through directing the music ministry at this church.
I talk and teach frequently about using your gifts and abilities to serve and
minister to people within and without the local church, and Bro. Ed has
exemplified that principle. “Well done good and faithful servant”! Please
continue to pray for Bro. Ed and Joyce in these challenging, transitional
days, as well as your church.

Remember our Vacation Bible School date is June 4-8, 5:30-8:00 p.m. We Inside this issue:
still need teachers and workers. If you can help please let me know. VBS is
such an important opportunity to love children and families and share Jesus
with them.

Mothers Day is just around the corner. Don’t forget to pay tribute to God’s
amazing gift to us. Happy Mothers’ Day to all you mothers, we thank God
for you. Awana Grand Prix 2

All our winter visitors are almost gone. We miss them when they return
home. So many of them are faithful in their attendance and financial giving. May Calendar 3

attendance and giving. We live in an age when people don’t want to be
committed to anything, especially church. But we don’t have to follow the FBC Ministry 4
lead of the culture. Let’s be obedient to our Lord and His church. Service Schedules
