Cover Letter
Dear recruiter,
Before I begin, I would like to thank you for visiting my website and giving me your time
and effort. As a junior mechanical engineering student at Wayne State University, I am
writing to you regarding the mechanical engineering internship position that opened
recently at. With experience in many of the necessary programs that will be used, I should
be ready to fulfill the void at your company. An internship/co-op will allow me to
challenge myself and develop my skill set further as I continue pursuing my degree at
Wayne State.

Throughout my time at Wayne State, I have developed many skills in programs like
MATLAB, HTML, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Two
engineering projects that have helped me develop the skills mentioned above, are the
academic robot project and the academic programming project. During the academic
robot project, I led a group of 4 in designing and operating a mechanical device capable
of maneuvering through different terrain and recognizing nearby obstacles. The second
project (academic programming project) helped develop my skillset in the program
MATLAB and Microsoft Excel because I created a project using the two programs that
would request user input to perform certain tasks from a set of data. Currently, I am
further strengthening my skills in MATLAB by taking the second follow up course for the
class.

I would love to have the opportunity for you to personally interview me and excited about
the chance of being able to contribute to one of the largest automotive supplier
companies in the world. Please contact me at your earliest convenience at
fadelfarhat@gmail.com. I highly appreciate your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Fadel Farhat

Professional Biography
As an automotive enthusiast from an early age, Fadel Farhat knew that he would pursue a path in
engineering. This passion gave him the drive and motivation to continue pursuing his career in school.
Entering college, he was still trying to decide which engineering path he would take, and it ultimately
came down to electrical or mechanical. After extensive research, he chose to undertake a mechanical
engineering degree because of his interest in the mechanical aspects of cars. Currently in his second year
in the program at Wayne State, he is learning about the advanced functions of MATLAB, the sciences of
materials in engineering, & engineering based-statistics. He is also seeking an internship or co-op at the
major automotive companies and their suppliers for experience with some of the best engineers in the
business. This experience will help receive quality job offers after graduation in 2020.
