Assumptions about prior learning


I think that students are aware of what is soil, but they are not familiar with the types of it , which they are ( Clay ,
Send , Silt ) .
Anticipated problems and possible solutions
If there will be no time for assessing students what they learn: I will consider elaborate activity as an
assessing part also.
Personal focus for this lesson
I have to be enthusiastic and show my students that am so excited for the lesson which will make them excited and
active.

In the begging of the lesson I will show them picture of
soil , and I will ask some questions , from the previews Words cards
lesson that they had it about the soil , to check their
extent knowledge about what is soli , and how does its 3 Kinds of Soil ( Send , Silt , Clay )
form , and if the materials of the soil are consider as a

In the second part I will show them a picture of 3 kinds of Recorder shite
soli, and I will ask them, do we have one kind of soil? ,
do they know the kinds? How they are unlike for each
other, where they kind find them?.

However I will show them video about them( 3 kinds of


soil ), so they will have more knowledge. The video will
be supported with simple questions, about the video, also
if they have any question for me to ask . Then the
question will be followed by a small experiment which is
how we can get clay send.

-Explore: In this part students will be working in groups,


were they will do a small investigation. Students will
have 3 kinds of soil, and they will investigate the
characteristic of each soil , were each student will have a
sheet recorder , and she will record what she see , and
feel .

did, and what they record etc.

teacher, and will read it following with answering it . The
questions will be about the soil lesson, and the lesson that
they had it today.

Lesson Reflection:
This lesson was delivered for grade 3 students, sciences subject. This lesson was unlike from other
lessons, because I do consume typical sciences activity which is investigation, and this part gives
the lesson brightness.

In the starting of the lesson I review with them the previews part of the lesson which is soil, where I
start with showing them image of the soil , and ask them questions about it , were also I asked them
for order to get soil, what we need. Student in this part they were fully engaged, because they had
these information’s before, and also my questions were simple and supported were in the questions
were hints, in my opinion asking students simple and with hint questions , will lead the students
motivate and active with the lesson , were after step by step teacher can make it complex. As using
technology is vital and supported at the same time for the student and teacher, I put for students a
video that talks about our lessons, which are types of soil. The video was very simple and short, that
have the important points. In this lesson my aim was delivering the lesson in short form with only
the important points, because this will make the lesson well delivered and well understated. After
students watched to the video I start to ask them questions, about the types of soil that they learned
about them in the video. To make students understanding clearer I show them simples of 3 type of
soil, with letting them to touch it , and know the texture of the soil , showing students the real object
from my experience first of all will attract the student and will help her or him to discover more, so
in this cause students were discovering the texture of each soil. Following with an investigation
activity which students love it , were each group get 3 types of soil and one magnifying glass , were
they have to observer each soil and record the size of particles and texture , finally color of the
soil , students were enjoying doing the activity, because as we know the young children they love to
discover , so this is one of the reasons that students love the activity , and they ask for more time ,
and the most important thing was that students were interacting with each other, were they were
asking each other questions , and I believe that students learn batter when they discover and when
they teach each other . Doing this type of activities in the sciences lesson make students aware of
differences between it and other subject, however during they were doing the activity I was going
around them and looking what they are doing, with asking them questions, some students they feel
difficulty with texture part, so I give them some examples, with writing down the texture vocab on
the board.
When student got done from the activity I select from each group a student to declare what she did,
and shearing the answers with students , and correct the foals understanding, during the explaining
part I realize something which is students they want to show up, which means come to the board
and they were excited to come to the board , letting students come to the front of the class and talk
is very important , for whatever subject , this will boost students in verity of areas , for example the
speech confidence , and from each lesson I decide that there will be part where one or two students
will come to the board and will do something .

In my next lesson my focus will be in time management , were according to my MCT feedback , is
that some areas took more time were it should be less, so I will like to divide the lesson parts , and
use an aliment to track my timing.
