The students engaged in prior activities and have prior knowledge in identifying which animals just eat meat (lion) and
the animals feed by the plants (cow).

Lesson Objectives:

The students will be able to understand what the meaning and know how to organize the food chain. And they can
classify the Herbivores, Carnivores, and Omnivores.
Lesson Activities:

There is one activity for the whole class. The lesson will take 45 minutes to complete. The introduction will take 15
minutes. The activity will take 20 minutes. The assessment at the end of the lesson will take 10 minutes.

Instructions

The introduction will be a short review if the students have an idea what kind of food the animals eat. Ask do all
animals eat the same food or different.

Simple revision questions will be given to them about the Herbivores, Carnivores, and Omnivores animals. The teacher
will then tell the class that the lesson today will be about the food chains and will show them a short video. Following
this the video will be explained. Then the teacher will write some of animal’s name. In pairs and on whiteboards, the
students will have to answer what are the first animal will be in the food chains.

The students will work in pairs and will be given time to work out their answers. This will allow the teacher to identify
if the students know and understand what they are expected to do.

Before starting the activity, the teacher will remind the students that they are to work quietly. Students that
are working quietly will get a reward such as gift or points on class dojo.

The first activity will be a group the students will have 3 baskets in each group. Each basket will be labelled
Herbivores, Carnivores, and Omnivores. There are a lot of pictures of animals they have to classify it in right place. If
they don't know which basket they will put make them guess.

The second activity will be worksheet and the students will do as an individual. The worksheet about words and
meaning of the words. The students have to match the word to the right meaning. The second part, there is a table has 3
columns Herbivores, Carnivores, and Omnivores. So, the students will write in each column 2 names of animals or more
as they like.

The end of the lesson will be a short 10 minute quiz to check if the students understand the objective of the lesson or
not. After the lesson, I will mark the quiz to determine the level of mastery of the outcome.

 Whiteboards and markers.
 Baskets.
 Pencils.
 Worksheet (quiz).
 Pictures of animals.

Evaluation / Assessment:

If the students correctly answer the questions in the quiz and during the lesson I will know if they understand the
objectives of the lesson. Also, I will tell them to explain how the worked out the answer.

Personal focus:

In this lesson I am working on my English language, sentence structure and use of words when I am speaking. I will
focus on being more confident, managing my time more efficiently and controlling myself in the classroom.
