The China IPR SME Helpdesk and the South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk

provide free information and services in the form of jargon-free first-line


confidential advice on intellectual property and related issues, plus training,
materials and online resources.

The Helpdesks raise awareness about IPR matters in China and South-
East Asia affecting European SMEs and enable them to make informed IPR
decisions.

Available to all EU SMEs, the Helpdesks co-operate with European SME networks, chambers of commerce and industry
associations to offer these services free of charge:

Helpdesk Enquiry Helpline – Confidential Advice

Individual SMEs and SME intermediaries can submit IPR enquiries directly to the Helpdesks via phone,
email or in person to receive free and confidential first-line advice within 3 working days. For China IP
e-mail via question@china-iprhelpdesk.eu and for South-East Asia IP e-mail via question@southeastasia-
iprhelpdesk.eu. The Live Chat feature on our website www.ipr-hub.eu allows visitors to connect with IP
Experts in real time.

Training Materials

Industry and business-focused guides and training tools address IPR issues in China and South-East Asia
with the provision of:
• IP Specific guides, e.g. Patents & Trade Marks
• Country IP factsheets: IP overviews of each country and region
• Industry Specific guides, e.g. Textiles, Automotive, Cleantech
• Business guides, e.g. Technology Transfer, Manufacturing

The Helpdesks also provide intermediaries with IPR articles written by IP experts for partners’ websites,
newsletters and other publications.

Online Services

• The multi-lingual online portal provides easy access to IP information and services, including
Helpdesks guides, event calendar, webinar recordings, podcasts and videos, for EU SMEs.

Training Events and Webinars

The Helpdesks organise training events and webinars in Europe, China and across South-East Asian
Countries on IPR protection, management and enforcement, tailored to the needs of SMEs:
• General IPR Issues, including IP registration and establishing an IP enforcement strategy.
• Practical Business Advice, e.g. Choosing Business Partners, Attending Trade Fairs, Licensing,
Technology Transfer etc.
• Industry Specific Trainings: on topics ranging from Machinery to Creative Industries.
• IPR Clinics: free 20 minute one-on-one consultations with an IP expert are available at most training
events.
• Webinars: 40-minute online expert presentations + 20-minute live Q&A, from the convenience of
your own office or home. All recordings are available for free on www.ipr-hub.eu post-session.
