Greg Hands MP on the Crime is increasing across London. Labour are refusing to
Campaign Trail in acknowledge there is a problem locally. They claim there are more
Kensington & Chelsea and police on the streets than ever before. They are not providing the
Hammersmith & Fulham
solutions we need.
7 ways to contact
Greg Hands So we’ve developed an action plan to tackle the rising crime in our
area.

This includes:

- Introducing regular meetings with the Police to identify the main
types of crime happening and create plans on how to tackle them.
- Reintroduce performance targets which have been quietly dropped.
- Support the Police in using initiative tactics such as sting operations.
- Expand CCTV coverage and use more mobile CCTV surveillance.
- Enforce existing Council powers to help the Police for example by
cracking down on rogue off-licenses.
- Fund dedicated drugs officers which Labour have stopped funding.
- Cracking down on moped crime.

A vote for the Conservatives is a vote to back our plan to tackle

crime. We will work closely with the Police so you can feel safe
and secure.

IMPROVE THE DISTRICT LINE
Labour have failed to invest in our local tube network - despite the
previous Conservative Council securing additional funding for
upgrading the tube.

In the last two years the District Line has been hit by more signalling
delays than any other line. Commuters have lost 228 hours each.

Many Fulham residents rely on the District Line. Figures have
revealed what many people already knew; the District Line cannot be
relied upon.

This is not good enough.

Huge sums of money had been set-aside as part of the Earls Court
regeneration project to upgrade the tube.

Despite this TfL and the local Labour Council have not invested
sufficient money into the signalling network.

We are calling on the Council to use this money to upgrade the
signalling network.

We’re working to upgrade signalling on the District Line to
provide more tubes. Vote Conservative for more tubes on the
District Line. So your journeys are easier.

30 MINUTES FREE PARKING IN H&F

New Resident’s Card

30 Minutes Free Parking - by introducing a new H&F Residents’ card.

This card will be freely available to all residents in H&F.

And will include 30 minutes free parking a day anywhere in the
Borough.

A vote for your Local Conservatives backs our plan for free parking.
So life is easier for you and your family.

We’ll introduce a new free H&F Residents’ card which will include
30 minutes free parking a day anywhere in H&F. So life is easier
for you and your family.

DEFENDING OUR NHS

We strongly believe in our NHS and fully support Charing Cross
Hospital

We want Charing Cross to remain open, expand its A&E, keep its
number of beds and continue to provide the best healthcare possible.

We understand residents’ concerns about the future of Charing Cross
and oppose any plans to downgrade or demolish our hospital.

We strongly believe in our NHS and fully support Charing Cross
Hospital. We want Charing Cross to expand its A&E. So you get
the best healthcare possible.

CLEANER & GREENER NEIGHBOURHOOD

Last year there were 17,873 incidents of fly-tipping across
Hammersmith & Fulham. This makes H&F the fourth worst performing
local authority in the country. You deserve better.

Labour are not using the powers they have. Last year they issued no
Fixed Penalty Fines for fly-tipping.

We are committed to cleaning up our streets and open spaces. We
have put together an action plan to tackle this problem.

We will:

- Protect bin collections for all streets.
- Target removal of all fly-tipping within 24 hours of it being reported.
- Reintroduce weekly inspections of waste contractors to improve
street cleaning standards.
- Work with residents to introduce more bins on our streets.
- Double the fine for fly-tipping to £400 which Labour have set at just
£200.

It is a basic duty of the Council to ensure that your bins are
emptied regularly and your streets are clean. Labour can’t even
get this right. You can vote Conservative to get the Council
focussed on what matters. So you get you the clean streets you
deserve.

TACKLING H&F’S HOUSING CRISIS
Labour are not focused on tackling the housing crisis. Their plan to
demolish a former Council estate - Watermeadow Court has been
called in to question by the Mayor of London. It provided 80 affordable
homes for social rent.

Labour want to replace the estate with 219 private flats. In 2015/16
only 165 new affordable homes were approved by Labour in H&F. In
2013/14 when the Council was run by the Conservatives we approved
1,511 affordable homes.

We will work with residents to build more affordable housing in
Fulham. So you can focus on the future. We plan to build the
affordable homes our borough desperately needs. By voting
Conservative on 3rd May you can support out commitment to
building more affordable homes.

YOU NEED A STRONG LOCAL VOICE

There is so much at stake in May’s local elections and your vote will
be crucial.

You can use your vote to get the Council focused back on what really
matters – like a vote for 30 minutes free parking, tidying our streets
and making our area a safer place to live.

Labour’s dominance means they have become complacent. So we
need a strong voice to keep them in check. To keep the Council
focused on the things that matter to us all.

You can use your vote to send a message.

So help us deliver real change by forcing the Labour Council to listen.

Reasons to vote Conservative TODAY
in Kensington & Chelsea

 Cleaner and safer streets

► Improving air quality
► More and better housing
► Keeping Council tax low

A message from Cllr Elizabeth Campbell

- Leader, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea Council

We live in the most beautiful borough in London and we are justly

proud of our efficient services, which provide us with clean streets,
excellent schools and a healthy living environment.

Since becoming Leader of the Council as we started our recovery from

the Grenfell tragedy, I have brought in changes to the day to day
running of the organisation, ensuring better cooperation and
communication between departments, making sure rules are enforced,
and – most importantly – taking greater care to listen to residents’
views.

This ethos of transparency and communication means that the Council

is more user-friendly, more accessible and more accountable than
ever before. On May 3rd, vote for your local Conservative Council
Candidates for cleaner and safer streets, better air quality and efficient
spending for low council tax.

Recovering from the Grenfell tragedy

We continue to support the families and wider community affected by
Grenfell so that:
- all survivors have a new home
- all those affected continue to receive the care they need
- residents who live near the Tower see the improvements that they
want

More and better housing

A Conservative Council wants to make sure that everyone lives in a
home which is in good repair. We will:
- listen to what local residents want and be guided by their views on
any changes to neighbourhoods
- provide more homes that are within the reach of local people,
including social housing
- oppose developments of new flats that are built only to be left empty
encourage new housing which is sympathetic to its surroundings

Helping young people

We will build on the Borough’s reputation as having the best schools in
London, enabling more children from disadvantaged backgrounds to
win places at university than anywhere else in the country. We will:
- build a new primary school and a new special school in North
Kensington
- keep all of our existing public libraries open
- provide opportunities, including apprenticeships, for those who do
not wish to go to university
- create an environment where entrepreneurs and micro-businesses
can flourish

Cleaner, greener and safer streets

We have made Kensington and Chelsea the best urban setting in
which to live. We will continue to:
- provide twice weekly household waste collections across the whole
Borough
- keep our streets exceptionally clean and well maintained
- fund extra police officers to reduce local crime
- champion the environment by attacking grotspots, by increased and
sustainable planting, by promoting car clubs and greening the
Council’s vehicles and buildings

Improving air quality

Emissions from cars and lorries in Kensington and Chelsea are
creating some of the most polluted air in London. We will:
- roll out the network of electric car charging points across the Borough
insist that all construction vehicles at building sites meet the latest
emission standards
- campaign to discourage drivers from idling their engines
- encourage cycling by putting our own funds towards maintaining
local roads and keeping them pothole-free, unlike in neighbouring
Labour boroughs

Protecting residents’ rights

Residents should know that people will not be able to get away with
breaking the rules. We will:
- make it easy for people to complain and get licensing, planning and
traffic management rules obeyed, by giving them a simple number to
call when things go wrong
- tackle the noise and nuisance associated with short term holiday
letting
- tighten enforcement so that rubbish is not being left out on the wrong
days

Delivering value for money

Our Council Tax is one of the lowest in London and our services are
the best. We will continue to combine rigorous cost control with
innovation. We will:
- keep our Council Tax rate in the bottom quartile in London for the
next four years
- cost and quality benchmark all our services against the best in local
government
- listen to our residents and take up new ideas which deliver better
value for Council Taxpayers
