Reflection

This class help me to improve my writings. I learned some details to

do my paper better, and how I have to present my work. I learned that

there are some important aspects that I have to keep in mind for do a

good paper.

 This semester I learned how I have to exhibit my work to the

audience, and understanding what is my purpose, the context,

and the genre. The audience has to understanding easier your

paper. Before you start to write your paper, you have to know

what is your purpose, why are you writing this paper. Every

paper has to have a different context and a different genre. If

you want to write a good paper, you have to considerate these

few aspects. These are some simple aspects, but sometimes we

don't take care of them. They are important for the audience.

They have to understand your work.

 When I wrote papers, I didn't plan anything. With this class I

learned to plan, write, and revise my work. Currently, when I

have to write a paper, the first thing that I do is the brain

storming. This is a good technique for pick the best option.

When you have your theme, it is important have a good thesis.

In my opinion, do a good thesis is hard, for my, thesis is the

more difficult part. When you have the idea and the thesis, you

have to think what is the organization; how many paragraphs,

what is the idea for each paragraph, the introduction, and the

conclusion. Every paragraph has to be one idea. But this can

vary depending of the type of the paper. This is an important

part to do a good paper. The structure help to understand the

paper and the purpose. Every paper has a different structure. In

this class, we worked some different types of papers; we worked

with journals, analysis, summary, bibliography, and argument.

 Our work has to be organized, with a good stylistic choice. This

point is for your audience, for people who read your paper. A

good paper has to have a good presentation. For this reason, the

paper has to be organized. In the paper that I wrote in this class I

used the same structure. First of all, there are the presentation;
your name, the class, the teacher’s name, and the day. In the

papers, you have to include the header with your last name and

the pages number. This aspect is only with large paper, in

journals it is not necessary. Another important point is the title;

this has to be original. In this class I learned that title is

important and it is the first thing that your readers watch. When

we wrote journals, we don’t have to write a good title, it is

enough with the journal’s number. The title is the first

impression that the reader has about your paper; it has to present

your paper.

 An important point is that our papers have to have a genre

conventions, structure, paragraphing, tone, mechanics, grammar,

syntax, and style. These aspects are important; but they are not

for a good visualization. I think that in these aspects I have to

improve. In my opinion, it is harder. You have to write all your

paper with the same tone. You can’t vary this tone in each

paragraph. The tone depends to the type of paper; depends to the

audience. It’s different if your paper is argumentative that if it is

bibliography. Sometimes I’m confuse, when we can’t write in

firs o second person, because I don’t know how I can explain

some arguments in the third person. But, I can improve this

point writing more papers. In my opinion, I think that in this

semester I improve the grammar, the mechanics, and the

vocabulary. In the beginning of this semester, I had to think

which is the correct form to explain it; currently, I don’t have to

think a lot. This process I have to improve more, because it is

important. Every time, I will use more complex vocabulary and

structures. In this class, I learned to use better the punctuation. It

is important for your readers. When I revised my papers I

corrected the punctuation, because I was reading, and I was

conscious what is the punctuation that I missed.

 I learned that every paper is different. There are some aspects

that I learned; but this is not for each paper. I learned to use

pathos, ethos, and logos. They are important for your audience.

 I wrote some papers in this class. I liked wrote journals; I think

that the themes are so interesting. My favorite journal is the

journal that I talk about Frida Kahlo. On the other hand, the

summary is the paper that I don’t like to write. But, I have to

learn to write every type of paper. The last paper that I wrote,
“Cancel Your Next Visit” is my favorite paper. I like to express

my opinion in this type of paper.

In conclusion, I learned some aspects that help me to improve my

papers. I think that this class is so important, because it help you in

your future and in others classes. It is necessary know that there are

some different types of papers; and we have to know what the

difference are. The next semester I will take this class, because there

are some aspects that I have to improve.
