B- Planning for Learning *
C- Managing Learning *
D- Implementing Learning *
E- Assessment *
F- Reflection on Practice *
E=Excellent G=Good S= Satisfactory M=Marginal US= Unsatisfactory
Strengths of the lesson:
 Starting with brain storming guesses.
 Give the students time to think and speak.
 Mirror is a great tool to show the concept “doubling things”.
 You linked the pictures with symbols and numbers.

Areas for development:

 In the chocolates bar example. Give clear instructions tell the sts what you need. Ex:
The student wrote the equation rather than the pictures.
 The student who wrote 6+6=12 , you need to follow his understanding by asking him or
ask him to explain.
 Show more energy and fun time to the lesson by “acting out” remember sts always
mirror their teacher, if you show energy they will reply with energy.
 The lesson was very short, you finished after 30 minutes. You can do one more activity
then finish up with a worksheets.
 Hend you have great capabilities. I think you can do more and be a great teacher.

Students reflection on the feedback ( submit after 2 days form the day of the
observation-Thursday 15th March 2018 )

Dear Ms. Alya

First, thank you for your time and your valuable feedbacks. Secondly, my general
feeling about my lesson is that it was modest and simple. Moreover, I think it was
short or the students just got it very quickly. About giving the students clear
instructions, I believe it is the basis of every lesson and it what lead the lesson to
the successfulness level because, when the students know what they have to do,
they will act very smoothly, and they will understand the concepts better.
Therefore, next time I will try to make my instructions clear, simple and as steps,
so the students can follow them easily. Additionally, I know that I should grab the
attention of the student who is answering. I don't want him/her to follow others
answers so, I will make sure to have them with me and I will try to ask them for
justification in the next time. This for me to know if they fully understand what
they are saying, or they are just copying form their friends. Furthermore, I know
I was a little pit nerves which might affect the students' feelings and my attitude
during the lesson. Hopefully, I will come over it next time and will try to show my
acting skills "happy, excited, and joyful.". Finally, I think I can perfume more
next time and I want to add more activities and manipulatives to promote the
students understanding of the mathematical concept.

Regards
Hend

Strengths of the lesson:
 Quit start with dissection of yesterday lesson.
 You have a good understanding of the lesson.
 I liked the students’ self-reflection.
 Used 3 different leveled worksheets.
Areas for development:
 When sts stuck on a question, try to change the question sentence. “ what we
are going to measurer?”
 Your engaging part of the lesson were based on asking the sts, which took a long
time ( more than 10 minutes) and may make the students lost interest. Start the
lesson with a question or a picture to keep the sts thinking about the lesson.
 Your discourse was long, the sts role was minimum. You can increase the sts role.
Ex: the steps for ex: “ I need 3 sts to tell us the role to use a rule. Who can
come and stand on the board?”.
 There were parts of the lesson plan was not included in the lesson ex: clock and
time.
 The lesson plan did not say that the sts know how to use a rule and you did not
let them practice using it.

Students reflection on the feedback:

Dear Ms. Alya

Thank you for your time and the useful feedbacks you gave to me. My
opinion about the lesson that I performed that it wasn’t the best thing I can do. I
know that it included many mistakes that by this time I should avoid. What I was
trying to do is to do the lesson the way my MST advised me with. I know that I
should add my own touches on to make it more attractive and more student
centered.
For the lesson strengths I do believe that I should be ready and I must
understand the concept that I will teach, to bass it correctly to the students.
Moreover, the students’ self-reflection is helpful to know the students feeling
about the lesson. On the other hand, for the areas of development I feel that it
all because I didn’t put a lot of effort on my lesson. The lesson seemed as it was
more teacher centered because I was trying to give more explanation about the
concept more than practicing it with the students. The questioning at the beginning
took time because I was trying to have all the students involve and I wanted all
the students to participate. Additionally, I delated “the clock” part from my
teaching via an advice from my MST. According to her, the students will have
difficulties in connecting the two concepts eave though they are both about
measuring.
At the end, I do believe that I can do more next time and I will try to
have a more students centered lesson. I understand that the key of teaching math
is to make it more a life and full it with engaging activities.

Thanks
Hend
