who defines well? the Lord

A broken spirit and contrite heart, I wll not despise.- the Lord honors it

Goal: learn how excellently we can serve the Lord

Excellent Insights in Serving Well

Faith and Fatigue- if tired, it affects faith, u cant pray or study,discern

A.) Learning to delight the Discipline and Delight of Rest

God is a God who values and models rest in creation and redemption

Rest in ur heart on earth in Jesus Christ

The righteous knows how to rest.

a.) Why is it hard to rest?

1. cause of demand of the crowd

: to deal it- take the risk of the crowds judgements

when rest is compromised, serving well is already compromised

2. strong tendency to please others

:deal- say no

3. misplaced identity..work define us

who we are: i am a beloved child.of the king

deal: holy laziness at constant times

my identity is not to be busy..it is to honor Christ

Goal: Christmas 2016 should be rich wd relationship: relate now

b.) Recipe for Spiritual and Physical Rest

to rest spiritual, rest physically

1. It must be a priority

-arrange the leave already starting this week

-"Let's go off"

2. It requires privacy

-Privacy is a need; respect privacy of others

- Solitude

3. It needs a special place

B. Learn Concrete expression of Concern

from concept to concrete:

pull out concepts..surrendr to God to concrete it

Jesus provide real food

Concrete means:

1. Actualize generosity

ex. plan and actually give

2. Tangible Gifts

3. Concretized communicated respect to others

how to: dignity, respecting differences,by maintenance distance,

be like children- powerlessness

C. Compassion for others

-"you feed them"

- translation of compassion

D. Discovering and Discerning Opportunities

-"go find out for urself"

- there's a difference from I heard from the Lord or think it is from the Lord

-ask the Lord what specifically we should do not for the sake of minitry but for the Lord' purpose to
come to pass

E. Seeing God in His surprises

be like a child, allow the Lord to suprise u

- be amazed of what God can do when u pray for others...as long as it is directed from the Lord

-"they ate as much as they wanted"

-"little becomes much"

-dont underestimate teh wisdom or blessing from leftovers

F. Wisdom from leftovers

-a reminding to have faith

-a responsibility to be faithful

..God is not honor if we are wasteful
