CHALLENGED
ROSS C. HARDY QUALIFICATIONS CHALLENGED

Macon, GA, 4/30/2018--Mr. Hardy has been made aware that a challenge has been issued
regarding his qualifications for candidacy. The challenge, made by one Mr. Cole Thomason,
alleges that Mr. Hardy is not registered to vote in District 1. This claim is false.

The challenge also alleges that Mr. Hardy is currently living in District 2. This claim is also false.
Mr. Hardy owns property in District 2, but is currently living in District 1.

Finally, per O.C.G.A. §§ 45-2-1, 21-2-6, a candidate for County Commissioner must “have been
a resident of the county in which seeking the office for at least 12 months prior to election or
appointment.” Mr. Hardy has lived in Bibb County for his entire life (save a six month period
working on a ranch in Wyoming).

Mr. Thomason’s claims are baseless and spurious, and distract from Mr. Hardy’s important
mission to bring “Weed & Wi-Fi” to the residents of Macon-Bibb County. Decriminalizing
marijuana and constructing a municipal wireless network are valuable, progressive goals, and
this campaign will not allow Mr. Thomason to be an obstacle. Mr. Hardy intends to defend
himself at a qualification hearing on Thursday, May 3rd.
