TELANGANA STATE MODEL SCHOOLS

INFORMATION BULLETIN ABOUT MODEL SCHOOLS & ADMISSION TEST APRIL 2018
FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2018-19
Model Schools are established in 194 Educationally Backward Mandals in Telangana
State to Cater the needs of students of those Educational Backward Mandals by providing
free quality education by highly qualified teachers in English medium from classes VI to X
and Intermediate.

Salient features of Model Schools


1. No fee will be collected from students.
2. The Medium of instructions is English
3. Pucca buildings are constructed for Model Schools.
4. Supply of free text books to all students from VI to Intermediate.
5. Mid Day Meals for all students from Classes VI to X.
6. Supply of free Uniforms for students from classes VI to VIII.
7. Hostel facility for girl students up to 100 students.
8. Free supply of Cosmetic Kits to girls in hostels.
9. Availability of Science, Computer Laboratories and Library.
10. Digital classes to students.
11. Seats will be filled up as per reservations rules as stipulated in G.O.Ms.No.24

Number of Seats:
a. Each class having sanctioned strength of 100 consisting of two sections in class
VI and lateral entry to VII to X as per available vacancies.
b. The mode for admission in to VI class is through Admission Test and lateral
entry in classes VII to X as per vacancies available at the time of admissions.

1. The Question Paper booklet will be based on V Class syllabi and objective type with
multiple choice answers.
2. Mathematics and E.V.S. sections are in bilingual (Telugu & English).

For Admission into VII to X classes as per vacancies available as on the date of
admission (objective type with multiple choice):

Mathematics, General Science and Social Studies are in bilingual (Telugu & English).

Age criteria:

VI Class – Candidate should have completed 10 years of age as on 31st August of the
Academic year 2018-19 in which he/she is seeking admission.
VII Class - Candidate should have completed 11 years of age as on 31st August of the
Academic year 2018-19 in which he/she is seeking admission.
VIII Class - Candidate should have completed 12 years of age as on 31st August of the
Academic year 2018-19 in which he/she is seeking admission.
IX Class - Candidate should have completed 13 years of age as on 31st August of the
Academic year 2018-19 in which he/she is seeking admission.
X Class - Candidate should have completed 14 years of age as on 31st August of the
Academic year 2018-19 in which he/she is seeking admission.

Duration of Examination: 2 hours (objective type)

Procedure for submission Online Applications:


Students after satisfying above conditions, have to pay fees through mee-seva, online
centers with particulars and obtain General number.
Mere obtaining general number will not be considered unless he/she submits the online
application. The general number is only in evidence of payment of examination fee.
After obtaining general number they have to submit online application to
http://telanganams.cgg.gov.in/ (online).
The list of Model Schools and application formats are kept in website
http://telanganams.cgg.gov.in/ and download the same.

Center for conducting examinations will be at District Head Quarters (Name of the
Center will be printed in the Hall Ticket).

Hall Tickets can be downloaded online as per reference number allotted to the candidates
(as per schedule indicated supra).
Note: Hall Tickets will not be dispatched by post and shall be downloaded from
website.

Selection procedure:
Selections will be made as per merit list (marks obtained) and rule of reservation stipulated
in G.O.Ms.No.24 Secondary Education (Prog.-II) Dept., dt.10.06.2016.

Rule of Reservation:

i. 15% and 6% seats in each class shall be reserved for candidates belonging
to the SCs and STs respectively.

ii. 29% of the seats in each class shall be reserved for BCs and shall be
allocated among the five groups of BCs as shown below:

a) Group – A 7%
b) Group – B 10%
c) Group – C 1%
d) Group – D 7%
e) Group – E 4%

iii. Physically Challenged students: 3% (in the reservation group of the


students)

iv. 33.33% seats shall be reserved for Girls in all categories as indicated in
Clause 4(vii) of G.O.Ms.No.24 Secondary Education (Prog.-II) Dept.,
dt.10.06.2016.

v. If sufficient number of candidates of any particular category are not available


to fill up the seats reserved for that group, they may be filled up by suitable
candidates as indicated in Clause 4(x) of G.O. above.

vi. 50% seats will be for open category.

vii. Each of the Classes VI to X has two sections with an intake of 50 each. While
admitting the Students, the Class shall be taken as a unit of 100 Students for
Classes VI to X.

Each Model School will be considered as unit:
 Submission of wrong online information will lead to cancellation of admission
without any notice.
 Caste and Date of Birth Certificates should be submitted to the Principal at the time
of admission.

Local status of the candidate:


Students of Erstwhile Mandal by virtue of domicile (Nativity) where the Model School is
located or who have studied one of the two previous classes in Government /
Recognized School in the Mandal where the Model School is located are to be
considered as eligible for Admission Test.
Example: For admission into VI class the candidate should have studied IV or V
class in the Mandal where the Model School located. For admission into VII class
either V or VI, for admission into VIII class either VI or VII, for admission into IX
class either VII or VIII likewise.

In case if the seats are not filled by the local students in the selected list then non
locals in the selected list will be considered for admission.

Important instructions to students while filling the application format:

 Before submitting online application a sample application format may be filled and
furnish correct information.
 Keep pass port size photo readily with them.
 Utmost care should be taken while filling the online application.
 The candidate is responsible for any mistakes committed by him in online
application and no further corrections shall be entertained.
 Mere appearing for admission test will not confer any right on the student for
admission into Model School.
