NOTES:

 Find an appropriate place to conduct the session. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a classroom. The interviewer should face the student and the
feedback interviewer might sit sideways, slightly behind so that the student doesn’t get nervous seeing him/her making notes.
 Set expectations with students. Explain that the objective of the session (don’t call it exam, test nor evaluation) is to identify his/her needs and to give
him/her an appropriate assessment in order to continue onto the next level.
 Tell student to relax –keep the atmosphere conversational.
 Ask him/her to answer with complete sentences and if he/she doesn’t know a word, try to explain it.
o Use Spanish only as a last resource.
 At the end of the session have the student ask you some questions.
 Finally thank him/her for his/her time and ask him/her to step out for a couple of minutes.
 Call the student back in and give him/her feedback.
o Set tasks for which he/she will make him/herself responsible in order to improve his/her performance.
