ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study is to assess the level of importance about the CPA’s in the Academe,
Government, Public practice and in Commerce and Industry with regards to the importance of Information
technology skills and competencies in Baguio City. The proponents of this study prepared questionnaires in a
descriptive survey method, the study only cater those persons practicing with the accountancy profession, in which
the entire population was obtained to conduct the study. The researchers found out that the respondents of this study
are aware on the importance of the modern technology whether they are in the government, academe, firms or
industry because it is relevant to their roles as practitioners. Finally, this paper shed light on difference in the
importance of IT skills and competencies of accountants when group according to specialization.
