WORD PROCESSING REFLECTION SHEET
Portfolio Document
Level___
Name: Ahmad Rashid_________________ Date: April 3, 2017___________
Answer each of the following sentences in proper English form and using proper Word Processing
formats that you learned in this unit. Do not change the font style, simply key your answer below
the question. Your Questions should be still in bold and your answers should be in regular print.
Think about the things you did, the process you went through, and what new skills and competencies
you have developed in this software. Be sure to have a double space between each completed
question and that the document is properly formatted. Save this file in your FSE directory.

1. List at least three (3) new skills you feel you developed with MS WORD.
Use the bullet feature in your answer. (Use proper English when using bullets.)Make sure
they are a specific Word skill.
I’ve developed skills in the following areas:
 Text alignment such as left, right, center or fully justifying text.
 Indenting such as double, first line, hanging, left and right indents.
 Text formatting such as italicizing, underlining and bolding.

2. What feature(s) did you like most in MS WORD? Why?

The features I liked most in MS WORD were the keyboard shortcuts because
they allowed me to be efficient and complete work faster.

3. In what task, areas or feature of MS WORD do you feel you were

weakest?
I am weakest in letter writing as is seen time and time again when I try to write
one. I have to spend a lot more time during the formatting process because it’s so
easy to go wrong. To prevent this, I created a checklist and I make sure I’ve
completed everything on the checklist before I move on.

4. How can you improve your work habits so that you will be more successful
in the future units when working with other application software?
I would like to work on my biggest weakness, I hate revisiting old projects. This
means that I don’t like correcting mistakes on my projects once I get them back.
This prevents me from learning from my mistakes and correcting them.

5. How could the material developed in this unit make you better in your work?
The different shortcuts, formatting skills and letter writing templates that I
learned in this unit allow me to key faster and more efficiently, organize and
present my information adeptly and lastly, allow me to give my documents a
professional finish.

6. Give two pieces of advice, showing well developed thought, that you would
give to a student taking BTT and doing the Word portion of this course.
Firstly, I would advise anyone thinking about taking this course to practice and
improve their typing speed. This is a fundamental portion of this course seeing as
you are keying out many projects and if you type slowly, you will fall behind.
Secondly, you may want to come in at lunch or in the morning to catch up if you
are falling behind. You will struggle immensely if you fall behind because as the
teacher is teaching new lessons, you’ll be working on the old ones and therefore
your understanding of the concepts will not be at par with the rest of the class.

7. In general what other comments/thoughts/feelings would you like to add?

I enjoyed the MS WORD unit because I found it to be generally easy with the
occasional hitch along the way. This was because I had experience using MS WORD
and any time I had any problems, Mr. Igbokwe would clear the confusion. However,
our timeline and schedule could have been clearer. I say this because I noticed
that we were quite rushed at the end of the unit.
