Click on NIC e-mail ID . If NIC email is already available
This Screen will be shown.

@ column “NIC Mail ID”. Nic mail id is given.

• if NIC mail id is not available or not created
through REIS, on clicking NIC mail id a page
will show two options.
• 1. NIC email id not available.
• 2. NIC email id available.
• Click on either of one will open up a form, fill
it and submit (online).
• NIC email id would be created and
intimated/updated.
 2. Password forgot of NIC email Id.

• B. The Screen will be shown as below.

• Enter full NIC mail id. (for the above example, here NIC mail id is “alok.ranjan14”. so enter
here alok.ranjan14@nic.in or alok.ranjan14@gov.in
• Enter the contents of the image and then click on submit button.
3. Why do you need RUID no?
RUID is Employee code in SPARROW and it is primary
key in the SPARROW database.

4. If RUID password is forgotten

A. Type URL on browser reis.railnet.gov.in
B. The Screen will be shown as below.

C. Click on Detail required link. A form will open

up/downloadd
D. After filing it, send it to reissuresh@gmail.com, your
password will be reset and sent on email.
5. What is an alternative to DSC?
Aadhaar enabled E-signature.
6. How to procure DSC?
Process of DSC procurement is available on
REIS webpage.
7. What if your DSC is missing?
Incase of loss / damage of token or loss of PIN,
locking out due to multiple wrong PIN’s, etc, the
service provider may levy certain charges for
recovery / reissue. Such charges shall be paid
personally by the officer concerned and shall not be
reimbursed.
8. Different classes of DSC.
Class 1 Certificate: Class 1 certificates shall be issued to
individuals/private subscribers. These certificates will confirm that
user's name (or alias) and E-mail address form an unambiguous
subject within the Certifying Authorities database.

Class 2 Certificate: These certificates will be issued for both

business personnel and private individuals use. These certificates will
confirm that the information in the application provided by the
subscriber does not conflict with the information in well-recognized
consumer databases.

Class 3 Certificate: This certificate will be issued to individuals as

well as organizations. As these are high assurance certificates,
primarily intended for e-commerce applications, they shall be issued
to individuals only on their personal (physical) appearance before the
Certifying Authorities.
9.Which browsers are compatible for
SPARROW?
Application is compatible in Internet Explorer (10 and
above version) or Mozilla Firefox (ESR version).
10.Even after having NIC mail Id why am I not being able to login
to SPARROW?
NIC database and SPARROW database are two different entities.
After NIC email Id is created the data of an officer has to be
added into SPARROW database. Only then the officer will be
able to login to SPARROW.

11. Can I login from my laptop and from my home?

Yes, SPARROW is available both on Internet and Railnet.
12. How to register DSC?
Step1: Install your Token Device in your Computer.
a. Plug the device in your Computer USB Drive. Click on Run. This will install DSC
Driver in your computer.
Step2: Update/Install latest Version of Java.
1. Open Internet Explorer and Type www.java.com,
2. Clcik here the link “Do I have Java”.
3. Click here “Verify Java Version
4. Click on Run
5. This will update the latest version of Data.
Step 3: Now user can register DSC in SPARROW.
1. Open sparrow.railnet.gov.in.
2. Click on DSC Registration.
3. Click on Signing Certificate.
4. Here the signing certificate is being configured.
13. How to register for E-signature?
This is not functional right now, will be enabled
shortly. Once it is enabled the details will be
posted on REIS webpage.
14. When E-signature will be available?
NIC and RBCC are working on it and will
be intimated.
15. How to know the status of my APAR as well
as APARs pending with me for Reporting /
Reviewing / Accepting?
Under Inbox, My PAR Tab for APAR of self and Access
PAR tab for the APAR of subordinates( for Rep/Rev/
Accepting with the Role Mentioned ).
