Lesson:
 Read The Worst Best Friend with the class up in heaven (15 minutes)
 Transition quickly back to desks (1 minute)
 Have a discussion with the class about what it means to be a good friend (5 minutes)
o Transition the discussion about the way Conrad and Mike felt when they weren’t
very nice to each other
o Have you ever felt this way????
 Bring up the idea that there are six different emotions
o Can we think of them together?
o anger, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness, and surprise
 Hand out the adjectives of emotions booklet
o Work through it together, writing the six emotions at the top of each page
 Students will then have to draw on the blank face what each emotion looks like to
them
o Ex. sadness should have some sort of frown, maybe a tear coming from
the eye
o Find words that go with each emotion
 Share some of our examples and words that we came up with
 What are some ways we can cope with anger, sadness, surprise??
