1.0 Introduction
To replace the existing Swivel Arm type Roof drains with new Stainless Steel Armored
Hoses for Oil Storage Tanks at OM&S as per release of Tanks(List is mentioned below) for
the job by MRPL. The new Stainless Steel Armored Hoses will have to be installed as a total
retrofit. Tank Primary Roof Drain system drawings are given along with tender for Designing
of new Stainless Steel Flexi Hoses.

2.2 Vendor has to Design and make Drawings for the Stainless Steel Armored hoses as per
the requirement and manufacture Stainless Steel Armored Hoses accordingly.
2.3 Vendor shall provide actions to be taken during the tank under Shutdown to facilitate
installations of the Stainless Steel Armored Hoses.
2.4 Vendor shall provide the Drawings for Prefabrication and Modification of Roof drain sump.
2.5 Necessary details for steam Coils re-routing to be given by the vendor.
2.6 Removal /Rearrangement of Roof Legs supports details to be given the Vendor before
installing the Hoses.
2.7 Provision of Roof leg guards of specified number at designed locations to be finalized by the
Vendor.
2.8 Oil Storage tanks shall be released for Installation of new Stainless Steel Armored Hoses one
after another tank or two Tanks at a time. As when tanks are released for Maintenance and
Inspection, Vendor shall be ready with the preparations and Supervising the Installation of
the new Hoses.
2.10. Vendor to give details of any Foreign Officials visiting for Tank job in- advance of 2
months, to get the approval from Government of India for Foreign Officials’ entry in to the
Refinery.
3.0 Documentation
3.1 MRPL provides existing Primary Roof Darin drawings for vendor’s reference.
3.2 Vendor has to submit two sets of Design & Engineering drawing to MRPL for information
and Records after placement of Purchase Order. Manufacturing of the new Stainless Steel
Armored hoses shall be as per API 650.
4.1.1 Power, Water, Air required for carrying out the work at free of cost.
4.1.2 Vendor to provide necessary guidelines to suit the requirement and to indicate the
requirement in detail for the same in-advance.
4.1.3. The required Manpower will be provided for the jobs associated with Stainless Steel
Armored Hoses installation.
4.1.5 Crane/Fork Lift will be given free of cost for handling of Hoses at tank site.
4.1.7 Fabrication and welding of Roof Spool, Floor spool and roof leg guard as per the
Detailed Drawings issued by the Vendor.
4.2.1 Design, Engineering, Fabrication, Supply and Installation Supervision of new Stainless
Steel Armored Hoses of suitable size and quantity for the existing Primary Roof drains of
Oil Storage tank. Material shall be compatible for Hydrocarbon in service.
4.2.2 Kick-Off meeting shall be arranged with senior officials of MRPL, Mangalore for
carrying out the Hoses installation before commencement of the work.
4.2.3 Hydrostatic Test at Vendors Works: After manufacturing the new Hoses shall be
Hydraulically tested at works by making necessary arrangements. The Hydrostatic test has
to be witnessed by TPI and Certificate to be submitted along with the supply of Hoses.
4.2.4 New Hoses from vendor works to be delivered at MRPL, Mangalore, and Karnataka, India
after obtaining necessary clearances/ insurances from the concerned authorities from
Vendor Works.
4.2.5 Vendor shall provide detailed actions to be taken during the tank under Shutdown to
facilitate installations of the new Stainless steel Hoses.
4.2.6 Vendor shall provide the Drawings for Prefabrication and Modification of Roof drain
Sump, Fabrication of interconnection between pipelines, if any, provision of Roof leg
guards of specified number at designed locations. These locations shall be finalized by
vendor.
4.2.7 Necessary relocation details of Steam Coils to be provided by the vendor to protect the
Hoses coming in contact with the steam coil.
4.2.8 To submit all Drawings, all Quality Control and relevant test records/ documents,
Material Test Certificates etc for our records.
4.2.9 The Vendor shall stand Guarantee for 36 months from the date of Commissioning of
the tank. A guarantee certificate shall be provided to MRPL as part of Final
Documentation.
4.2.10 The necessary Supervisor for carrying out the above work shall be deployed by the
Vendor and verify the Installation drawings with respect to the individual tank details.
4.2.11 Supervisor shall supervise the safe movement of the Hose in to the tank and proper
Installation of the Hose.
4.2.12 Vendor shall complete the installation work of Hoses of each tank within 2days.
4.2.13 Boarding, Lodging & Transportation for the Supervisor during the execution of the job
shall be arranged by the Vendor.
6.1 Hoses shall be delivered to MRPL, Mangalore within 12 weeks from the
date of placement of Purchase order and as per delivery schedule mentioned below.
7.1 Vendor will be given a notice period of 15days for supervising the jobs and set up
of new hoses at our site for carrying out site work. Vendor should be ready to take
up the job as per the instruction of Engineer In Charge.
