Overview of the lesson:

Jawaher Abdalla had lesson about “At” Family.

Strengths:

- Well-modulated voice / appropriate and suitable tone and intonation

- Has asked HOTS questions to the students during activity time

- Know students by their names

- Has provided several differentiated and challenging activities

- Did not immediately reveal the answers to the students who have asked questions related to the
topic. Instead, she made way, through questioning, in order for the students to discover the answers
themselves.

Areas for development:

- Lesson plan should be submitted a day before the observation to demonstrate “planning ahead”
(see TP booklet)

- Include in your lesson plan the possible higher order thinking skills (HOTS) questions that you might
ask to the students as they do the activity. This can be an affective formative assessment tool.

- Reflection should be submitted at most 2 days after the day of observation to show that you are
practicing being a “reflective teacher”. Moreover, you did not follow the template for reflection as
mentioned in the TP booklet.

- For the first activity, minimize devoting a lot of time calling students one-by-one. It is better to
involve everyone to avoid students getting bored, unengaged, and restless. (Give pictures to each
group then pose questions)

- Never turn your back when writing.

- Needs improvement in thinking of more creative and effective transition strategy.

Focus for next lesson:

- Please be guided accordingly from the above-mentioned areas for development.
