Area of assignment: Bagu Barangay Health Station
Bagu, Bakun, Benguet

I. Activities

A. Fieldwork

 Conducted sitio visit at Bilig. Health Education was provided and BP monitoring
was done. Vitamin A was also provided to children 6-70 months and to other
adults who would like to take the vitamin.

 Visited a 26 year old female who experienced painful and difficulty of urination.
Urine was collected and was examined. Result shows that there are leukocytes
and blood in her urine. Medicine was given and she was instructed to drink plenty
of water and to prevent salty foods.

 Visited the Bagu Child Development Center and provided vitamin A to the pupils.

B. MNCHN services

 Prenatal Services – Assisted the midwife in providing prenatal services. Helped


them in accomplishing their emergency birth plan. Discussed to them the danger
signs during pregnancy and to go for consultation if these danger signs are felt.
Instructed them to deliver in a health facility, to continue their ferrous sulfate +
folic acid, and to come back for their follow up check-up.

 National Immunization Program – Immunized infants at Bagu Barangay Health


Station. Weight of infants were taken. Common side effects of vaccine received
by their infants was discussed to the mothers. Reminded the mothers to bring
back their infants on the next immunization schedule. Four infants received
Pentavalent Vaccine and Oral Polio Vaccine; one infant received Pneumococcal
Conjugate Vaccine; and one infant received Measles, Mumps, Rubella Vaccine
(MCV2).

 Family Planning Services – Dispensed contraceptive pills and injected injectable


contraceptives to some women of reproductive age. Side effects of these
methods were also discussed to first time users.

 Neonatal and Child Care – Height and weight monitoring


 Garantisadong Pambata – provided children ages 6 months to 70 months with
Vitamin A. Some of the children were also instructed to cut their nails or to let
their parents cut their nails and the proper way and when to wash their hands.

C. Others

 Blood pressure screening and monitoring and health education

 Distributed multivitamins to senior citizens.

 October 9, 2017 – Meeting at RHU with fellow HRH assigned at Bakun. New
reports were discussed.

 October 19, 2017 – Joined the BNC members during the evaluation of their
accomplishments.

 October 21, 2017 – Joined the 2nd Barangay Assembly of Bagu. Clinic concerns
were reiterated to the community people.

 October 21-22, 2017 – Joined the outreach by the AAPaK (Akyat Aral Para sa
Kabataan) Organization at Barbarit Primary School and Bagu Elementary School.
School Supplies, bags, raincoats, and rubber slippers were distributed to the
pupils.

II. Learning Insights

 Be confident in doing everything.

 Good working relationship with your co-workers will lead to excellent result.
