EEI (ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF INSTRUCTION) - LESSON PLAN


ELEMENTS REQUIRED:
Students will identify words and sound of the blend/br/
Objective Students will blend 2 letters when teacher read words with /br/blend
Students will recognize and produce words with /br/blend

Anticipatory Set Students will group up into 3’s to compare /br/ blend words found. Students will sort pictures
of /br/blend words. Students will agree to each /br/blend words found.
 Teacher will introduce the standard and the Essential Questions from the anchor
chart: Blend br.
 TW(Teacher will review the vocabulary: blending
 Essential Question (EQ): How do I blend two letters when I read a word with the
/br/blend?
Teach Lesson /  TW explain to students that a 2 sound blend are two consonants in a word that makes
Model two distinct sounds.
 TW write the blend /br/ on the anchor chart
 TW make the sound of the blend br
 TW ask the students to give words with the (br) blend
 TW chart the student’s responses on the anchor chart

Students will go on a scavenger hunt in the classroom finding objects that begins with
Guided Practice
/br/blend, bring items to carpet to discuss items chosen. Students will identify /br/blend
words from the word wall and say the words to the teacher.

Student will trace and say the /br/ blend


Independent
Student will look at each picture and say the word.
Practice
Student will color the happy face green if the picture has a br blend
Student will color the sad face red if the picture does not have a br blend

Closure
Student will share work with class

Evaluation
*Assessment/Rubri Teacher will use a check chart for word recognition of the /br/ blend words.
