Storyboard: Mathematical Practice Standard #3

Topic of Module/Lesson: Mathematical Practice Standard 3

Date: 3/17/18
Designer’s Name: Jonathan Watts
Development Software: Captivate
Time: 7-10 minutes

Notes:
The module covers instructional strategies for fostering mathematical discussions, which address the
first two components of the Common Core Mathematical Practice Standard 3. Each component
includes the following slides:
● Description of the instructional strategy
● Interactive activity with audio from a student mathematical argument
● Interactive Assessment
Upon completion, learners will receive feedback from their assessments and links to additional
resources on the topic. This module is intended to capture only part of the standard description, with
the remaining standard and instructional strategies covered in future projects.
